I was under that impression too. AFAIK, they only did not fix the ones which weren't affected by this issue.
the effects also had this issue, and they didn't update akustik enhancer or any other effect, but the conflict with ilok seems to be solved by ilok.

Both ElectraX and Saurus alraedy had major updates to v2. Gladiator 2 and Icarus were updated this year (next Icarus update seems to be alraedy planned) and also Nemesis is currently updated. Rayblaster should follow in the near future too (current version is v1.1).

A lot of work is invested by Markus recently and also at the moment, not to forget he is also doing sound design and involved with factory presets and some of the soundsets.

Ok, after weeks of searching for a solution, I finally found one. What was the problem, you ask? Nemesis2, Icarus, and ElectraX behaved erratically in Logic Pro 9. I'm still running OSX 10.6.8, and Logic Pro 9 on a MacBook Pro. Added these Tone2 products and noticed a couple of odd symptoms:

* When switching from a different synth plugin into one of the Tone2, especially Nemesis, Logic would lock up for a few seconds, then crash dump
* If I left my computer, and it went to sleep while Logic was still running, Logic would crash dump.

I tried deactivating/bypassing the Tone2 plug-ins in the session file, but it would still take Logic down or randomly crash when switching into Nemesis. Then, I read up on Symbiosis, the VST-to-AU wrapper which is behind-the-scenes for these three synths, and I did a little dive into the Contents of the AU plug-in for Nemesis. On the Mac, this path is "/library/audio/plug-ins/components/nemesis.component/contents". The file Info.plist has some comments in it from Symbiosis on how to configure the plist file regarding opening of certain patches or program banks. A few lines down into the file, there is a line stating "This identifier should 100% uniquely identify this 'wrapped' AU." It didn't.

I can only guess that Symbiosis could handle a single instance of one of these three Tone2 plug-ins (or perhaps Logic could work with Symbiosis and one instance of these plug-ins), so I corrected, rather, updated the strings for:

CFBundleIdentifier
edited to:<string>com.Tone2.Nemesis.au</string>

CFBundleName
edited to:<string>Nemesis2</string>

CFBundleGetInfoString
edited to:<string>Nemesis2 Copyright 2011 Tone2</string>

I started up LP9, and created a new session file with several instances each of Tone2 synths. The last several days, no problem switching into Nemesis from, say, Zebra2, and no crashes of Logic when I walk away and leave the computer sit for a while.

Now, editing these files within the ".component" directory is not advised, as future updates will likely overwrite these changes, and I don't know if any support agreements are breached with this change. Still, I'd rather have a stable Logic session and it seems I have achieved that.

I find it interesting that Harrison MixBus had no similar problems with this, which is why I thought it might be AU cache or potentially a hardware problem.

I enjoy the concept and simplicity of the Nemesis product & interface, and it is capable of producing some rather wild sounds. Icarus, I enjoy more and more each day, as I learn editing tricks in the Wave Window.

I hope this post helps others who have struggled with other Tone2 products in AU DAW.

Cheers-
Gustopher

1.2 is *huge* improvement in UI usability and CPU! I don't know if the sound is now better for improvements or for lower CPU, but *massive* improvement in sound too!

Thanks, Tone2 guys!

Wonder when Markus will realize that it's FL Studio, not Fruity Loops anymore. ;)

Post

@Ingo thanks.

@Markku, granted I rarely use Nemesis, but I am curious what is the improvement in UI usability in this update?

hehehe...i had the same thought. And i reminded him even. Fruity Loops hasn't been used since version 4 (if i remember correctly)...

Can't help but think he might be a bit snippy about it. :)

The UI is more responsive. Also, I had irritating draw errors and blinking due to my very strange rig. It is not happening any more. It is probably not usual for others; my PC is very strange beast.

Just installed but the updater seems to have removed the skin I was using.

On Mac El Capitan w/LPX not working! (altough the host supports it!)

And so far has crashed every host I've tried it in within seconds just changing a preset

@Amused, see Gustopher post above.
