Studio One is the marmite of DAWs, you either love it or hate it. What I ddnt get is the constant threads about it here from both sides of the discussion.
Mac Studio M4

This....and more,

Seems like it's more axe grinding then real issues. Even though the issues they have are real the solution is there, accept them or sell and move on. Some really think they are doing a public service with their drum beating but whose to say others would have the same issues giving the different system environments we ALL have.

To the OP, the one good thing about the box set is the content will be there and save you some downloading.

Good luck with it my friend.

Well I do think there are legitimate issues with it, the point being there have been enough threads about this from both sides, just do a search and you will get a page full of threads about the subject. To be fair a large number are "S1 is amazing" ones so there is no bias as far as thread starters are concerned. Enough already, surely there are better things to discuss. Full disclosure, I have participated in a lot of them too. :D so I am not blameless at all. In the the other forum duplicate threads about different VST or FX are quickly combined so why not start doing this here when threads are really just duplicates ?

To the OP this is not a diss at you at all just an observation.

Totally agree, coral all threads addressing the same topic to one thread.... Or.... one subforum.

Titled: Studio One Freind or Foe, Gripe or Accolades....This or That and SUCH...

All funning aside, it gets old to be bombarded on a daily basis but it's the interweb's after all.

Hello again, I am very appreciative of all the perspectives in your detailed responses. I am still reading and digesting. Personally, you've all helped to restore my initial excited anticipation. Admittedly, due to my situation, I have spent more time reading and researching than I've gotten to spend "hands-on" with my music tools. But I have always felt that having good tools is really motivational and an excellent basis on which to learn.

It's gonna be a good year.

Again, thanks all!

It's taking it's turn in the KVR bash basket. Some years ago it was non-stop "PT Sucks" threads, then later on Imageline was getting pounded on a daily basis (did Edward die or something, haven't seen him lately), then Propellerhead got reamed in a multi-page threads (the nazi's had the audacity to close their user forum :)) and of course Bitwig sucks because it doesn't have audio fades, etc, etc. I won't even mention S__ar, don't wanna dredge all of that subscription drama up again.

It's par for the course, they all get their turn in the ... KVR outhouse. :hihi: Come back in a year and it'll be something else.

Cubase is kind of on par with Studio One regarding that though. :P The newest chic: Trusting people i never heard of about "recommendations" like " DO NOT UPGRADE TO CUBASE 9!!", because they found bugs they are not even able to reproduce in their own videos on Facebook.

Is this something to be concerned about?
Its KVR, people here buy and sell things, buy same software again and so on... Studio One 3 doesnt require a dongle like other software for ex Cubase, licence transfer is hassle free so its not hard to do that.

Studio One 3 is great software, dont be fooled by the market place.

I can confirm that. Have done so myself.

I have three copies of Studio One 3 Artist edition, one each with three PreSonus hardware units I bought.

I've not yet got around to trying it, but there's two licenses that may well end up in the marketplace that reflects not the slightest on the product itself.

I don't think People are advertising Studio one considering the price they are calling for it. Those who post for advertisement are the one with 300 or 400 ballpark.

If I see people trying to sell their DAW over 200 USD here in KVR, I usually call it reverse advertisement. I don't even bother to negotiate those people. They ended up telling me either some one took it first or some weird reason.

To the OP - don't worry, I think S1 v3 is a good DAW, and I think you will find that too. Mind you, I'm on PC..

It is solid, should do most if not everything you need a DAW to do. Yes there are a few issues, but nothing critical in my experience.

What I like is that Studio One is at that stage where the developers of it seem to be at a stage where exciting things are still possible for it - it isn't that old that it has gotten stale for them or it has too much of a codebase that makes it hard to improve, and it isn't too new that it is unstable.

I received and registered my new Pro license, yesterday. Will upgrade later in the week. I feel good about where I am headed, thanks again for your insights and support, it means a lot. Happy and healthy New Year to you and yours!

The amount of sold used copies here in the market place slowly makes me wonder a bit too... is everyone switching to other DAW's? Weird. :D

I've just coughed up for the Pro version too. You get a shed load of stuff with it.

The only surprise I found was that if you install the 64bit version, you don't get an automatic bridge to your 32 bit plugs (if you have any). Apart from that, no complaints so far.

In fact I'm rather liking it. And I'm rather liking being forced to relearn my work process. Wakes you up and sweeps the cobwebs away.
