Hello! I'm an Ex (well almost) user of Harmony Navigator 2. I much prefer the layout and usability of RC.
It took about 2 hours of clicking around to get to do in RC ,without using the manual, what I was doing in HN2 still scratching my head after many years (part time though).
So I still think HN2 is a powerfull tool and I'd like to know if there is some of the features I like in it in RC.
Subsets and Subtriads. I don't know if Attila is familiar with that stuff. I'm not good in theory but basically it's an option to show wich chords are made of the same notes (or just a few) than another chord. It's done in a practical way, using color schemes in the palette.
Also there is an option to show common chords in 2 different keys.
Is there anything like it in RC ?

Hi Boone777,
thank you for your order, and welcome to this forum!
You are not the only such refugee here
If you right-click on a chord name and open the chord palette (click on Palette in the right top corner), you can set a primary scale, and 2 other scales. Right-clicking on the scales buttons will allow you to choose a scale. First set the color scheme to 'None' to better see the highlighted notes. When you click on a chord, the corresponding notes and the scales are highlighted. When you click on a note, all chords and scales are highlighted that contains that note. And when you click on a scale button, chords and notes from that scale are highlighted. To highlight common chords in 2 or 3 scales, you can select multiple scales by clicking with the Ctrl key. Similarly you can select multiple notes by Ctrl-clicking.
It is also possible to display common notes in chords, if you select Color: By Common Notes.
The chords palette will be reworked and improved in v3.3.
Thanks,
Attila

I've played with this a little bit. When I want to change a chord I right click on it to open the palette. Then If I Ctrl Click 2 different scales, I can select common chords to replace one chord in my progression. When I select a second chord by right clicking, my common chords selection resets. I have to ctrl click my scales again. Is there any way to 'freeze' my selection in the palette to avoid the constant ctrl click ?

I will fix this in the next few days.
The chord palette will be completely reworked for v3.3 but if there is such an issue, I try to fix that ASAP.

Today a "Lock" button was added in the chord palette that will prevent the chords from changing the highlighted state. A new beta version is expected in a few days with this small feature.
Thanks!

So Nice !!! wohhoo !
Another thing , just a suggestion, maybe for the future if it can be done, when 'locking' everything will probably be green. If it's possible , different colors can be set so that we still can see common notes or other relationship with chords while still retaining the green. Both colors could be locked also. For exemple half the chord button would be locked green while the other half changes color (or locked) when clicked to show different relationships between chords while still retaining the common chords.
Here's an exemple of what this is very practicle for maybe you already saw this. Starting a little bit before the middle of the video. You need to click continue at some point it's an interactive video. The circle of fifth is not really relevant we can already chose different keys.
