I also should mention that I have voted also. Actually it was a few days ago now, but I've been ill so I didn't get a chance to go back and comment on people's soundcloud tracks. However, I did take plenty of notes when I was going through so if anyone would like feedback ping me a message here or via SoundCloud.
As for the scoring, I tried to make it a wider distribution but there were still a good few 4's and 5's - more than I expected. The quality overall was excellent!

Good for you Wags!wagtunes wrote:Life is good. Today, I cleaned out a ton of crap from my dresser drawer that I know I'll never need and was no point hanging onto.bjporter wrote:Excuse me? What did you just say?wagtunes wrote:Ah, drama...and I'm not involved.

I've made a lot of (for me) drastic changes for 2017. For starters, haven't even been close to an argument yet. Not just here but every forum I attend. Some people are wondering if I'm ill. lol.
I can't even begin to tell you how much better I feel.
As far as this OSC goes, I'm probably going to skip it and wait to see what comes out next month.
Taron, on a personal note, there aren't many tracks I actually look forward to listening to each month if for no other reason than lack of time, but yours are one of them. You always come up with something different and interesting. It is so far from the same old same old and yet is also so well done that you actually do well in the contests. I truly admire you as an artist.
Anyway, I'm currently listening to some Chris Hein Solo Strings demos so I'm gonna go back into my cave and continue with that.
Good luck to all the participants this month. Synth sounds like a challenging one.

Yeah, a cave is one of the best places to listen to strings!wagtunes wrote: ... Anyway, I'm currently listening to some Chris Hein Solo Strings demos so I'm gonna go back into my cave and continue with that.
Hope you liked my "stringy" entry this time round then ... I might just see if I can do another one with HY-Mono?

I did like it and pretty sure I gave you 4 stars. I was teetering on 5. Honestly, we need a larger rating system. on a scale of 1 to 10, your track is a solid 9 but not quite a 10 for me. I hated lumping you in with the 4s but didn't feel it would be fair to the 5s if I lumped you in with them either. Honestly, there were a lot of 9s this month.doctorbob wrote:Yeah, a cave is one of the best places to listen to strings!wagtunes wrote: ... Hope you liked my "stringy" entry this time round then ... I might just see if I can do another one with HY-Mono?Could be a challenge -- else it might just be an ambient or possibly a jazzy one - although ... I am toying with another boogie/bluesy one as well ... not quite sure where to go ... I need to delve into the guts of the synth to see what I can get first before committing to a genre this time ...

Hopefully, in the near future, we'll have a 10 point system or at least more than a 1 to 5 scale. When the tracks are this good, it's too limiting and it makes it very hard for me to vote.

Thanks Taron and Steven, glad you liked what you heard. Still have to finalise my voting ... so very hard this time round. I expected a tough round though based on the last time we did Synth1. At least I have improved since then
So, what should it be then???

Many favourites this month, and high quality sounds and tracks too, as is to be expected from this little beast of a synth. Which makes it even more difficult to vote, especially given the so few points to distribute among entries.
And I have to mention Photonic - that's an amazing track you crafted there.
Good luck all.

Voted! Thanks for the opportunity, all. I had fun writing my piece and listening to the ingenuity of everyone's tracks.
