Update to V1.2.5: Set add gain on readout values changed from mouse click to shift mouse mouse click
(now avoids unintentional gain changes by just clicking on readout values)

Just want to say thank you! The latest update makes this thing fully useable now.
Best free realtime numerical meter by far.

Regarding the loudness matching. Does it perform the loudness matching or just should level via meters for you to adjust using other parts of the chain?

dpMeter2 provide simple loudness matching based on meter readout and ref level by adjusting "GAIN" parameter:
lets say your RMS momentary max shows -16.8 dBFS and your reference level -18.0. If you shift click now on RMS momentary max readout box gain is set to -1.2 ( = -18 - -16.
. If you now rerun your audio RMS momentary max should give -18.0 (aka reference level).
Please to note that this is simple static loudness matching, dpMeter2 does not provided (dynamic) level matching!

Then make it so !TB-ProAudio wrote:Please to note that this is simple static loudness matching, dpMeter2 does not provided (dynamic) level matching!
That would be OH!Some ! (even - dare I say it - for a paid plug. something akin to [Meterplugs'] Perception or [TB-Audio's] AB_LM )

Question: in the RMS mode, what is the "Crest" value?

Do you mean in dpMeter2?heavymetalmixer wrote:Question: in the RMS mode, what is the "Crest" value?
In dpMeter2 it is defined as peak value minus integrated RMS value (in dB).

So it's the same as Dynamic Range and PLR. Is it calculated for a certain moment (like how the RMS value changes every 300MS), or is an average of the entire track?TB-ProAudio wrote:Do you mean in dpMeter2?heavymetalmixer wrote:Question: in the RMS mode, what is the "Crest" value?

Or the average of the currently played clip.
If you want instant dynamic range readings on whole tracks without having to sit through playback, check out the old, free TT Dynamic Range meter (standalone version) - you have to convert to 16-bit wave though. (I wish someone would update this)

Brainworks did a new version but it's paid, so the there's no free alternative for the old TT meter yet.MogwaiBoy wrote:Or the average of the currently played clip.

This doesn't work here in ableton live /windows. I set up a ref level (-3dbfs) and click on "maximum peak". Nothing happens. I expected that the qain is adjustet so that "maximum peak" would be -3db after that. Any idea or do I understand it wrong?Loudness/peak/TP match
By clicking on measurement descriptions the current value with be matched with the
reference level.
Example: Max Peak (RMS) shows -6 dBFS, reference level shows -1 dBFS. If you click now
on the text "Max Peak", the gain value is automatically set to (+)5 dB. Now Max Peak should
show -1 dBFS.
This is very handy if you want to set the loudness/peak/TP to a certain reference level with
just a mouse click.
