There wouldn't happen to be an alternate download available is there? It's been failing on 3 computers for a few hours. I remember having the same problem the first time too...

I know have 4 computers at work trying to download the rapid sounds, they all short out well before half way -- must have failed over 40 times so far...

I still have the rapid sounds folder which has all the wavetables etc, could I just copy that over to the new computer and see if it works? -- edit* nope, this doesn't work  hopefully a chrome download manager might help :)

Great, that worked, much joy

Whats up with Rapid? Only very few videos on YouTube. I think its to expensive. Make it $99 and 100 people buy, make it $200 and 10 People buy.

Indeed + the higher the price, the more likely people will get the hacked version...

cheaper the price though, more people and higher time/cost for support.
Always a balance, not as easy as cheaper more people imho.

I don't know what you mean, does that mean you think there are too few videos from 3rd parties? It's just 3 months since release and there are a bunch of review and sound videos out there. Not bad if you ask me. Not every customer is a YouTuber. It needs time to adapt and create videos, and most customer are too focused on their music production anyway.

Rapids price tag already dropped to 179.99€, which is an acceptable tag, compared with direct competitors. 99$ arguments are ridiculous. No other vendor offers a plugin with comparable sound, content and feature quality for this price. Let's be honest: Your interest is not Rapid or our business strategy. You just don't want too pay this much
But I understand that, not everyone is willing to spend this much for a hobby. Do as you like. Maybe you will change your opinion after a few updates and new features.

Sure. But i don't call 150+ dollar middle ground these days. 99 would be exactly right, imho, on todays market.

Eitherway, it is a good and solid sounding synth :tu:

I know of a review for Rapid that will be published in a few more days.

I demoed Rapid and despite feeling they could have been a little more generous with the amount of presets included was impressed enough to want to buy it. BUT! Slight contradiction IMO... Although I think the price is fair it is a premium product also aimed at professional users. What I don't get then is why they DON'T make it possible for professionals to purchase their product without value added tax for which companies like mine are excempt. I realize that B2B can be a drag but many, many other small companies whose products cost much less don't seem to have a problem with this.

I am also waiting for this before considering purchasing Rapid.

To be honest... This is a deal breaker for me.
There's no reason for them not facilitating B2B transactions. And after my correspondence with them I don't feel they are duly interested.
Another irksome situation is having to purchase through PayPal... It is NOT true that you can purchase with just a credit card as you HAVE to register before any transaction can take place, this means that the credit card information is stored on their site... My PayPal was hacked once and I was never able to sort things out with PP.
Looks like BitCoins from now on;)

Rant over... feeling better now:)

Look at the sound quality of Repro-1 and The Legend. They have a real price for todays topsynth. With your price politic the users will wait for the "free" version. You will notice that your orders will go down in the future, I promise that.

Rapid is really nice, but not a high price one.
