bungle wrote:Yeah, just go read the IOS page for it, it is the same sound engine, has all the same features, and has preset parity, but it does have a great randomisation feature the desktop does not have, trust me iWavestation is the best of all three variants, but i suspect we will not be getting iWavestation, because iWavestation is not built in to gadget, it is the standalone Wavestation on IOS, the gadget is called Milpitas, it is unlikely to be anymore than this.
We will see how the plug-in collection looks.
At least Milpitas has the random feature too :D
I rechecked and i doesn't miss anything in Milpitas compared to the stand alone! Everything is there!

Pic below shows the iM1 and ARP ODDYSEi, and Salzburg and Montreal which were part of the Module app, which were not built in. Plus it sounds like they want it to be entirely compatible with the iOS version, so I doubt they leave anything out.

The ODDYSEi is easy to identify, but which of those is the iM1?

2nd from bottom-left, next to Amsterdam. It's showing the preset browser and expansion cards :tu:

I've had a little play with these on iPad and I have to say I was surprised how great they sounded. Will be very interesting to see how much this little lot costs, as a set they cover so much ground for anything electronica.

Geez, when I was a mac user for the past 13 years there was always things I couldn't have because it was PC only. Now that I went PC last year, I am in the same position from the other side! I can't use Alchemy anymore and now Korg are releasing their gadgets on mac only! Come on, come back to windows Korg! We even have touch screen surfaces that could allow for the same touch use of gadgets!

+1 gadget on ios is extremely capable. the only downside i find is fine editing/control.

I also find in general fine tuning and control in multi-touch apps very hard (even annoying).
Here it might be even more easy to use with a mouse or trackpad.
I just hope Korg port this as good as possible.
F.e. i can draw in some tools with my trackpad notes or values across steps just like i would do it on a touch screen. But in some tools i always have to click and drag for each step (instead of one click and drag across several steps like drawing a curve).

I'm not a big fan of touch for most things either but I love using the pen on surface. Much better control.

I never used a pen.
I think Gadget on an iPad Pro with the pencil (if the app support this) might be great.

Except that you will not be able to use it, because this is Mac only, for the time being. :(

well i have tried "stylus" sort of thing but does not do the trick. eg tuning samples in bilbao would require numerical input. drawing automation in more than 2 bar section becomes a hassle etc. anyway, this a great and creative tool. as a pc user i would like to see porting it to windows.
