Of course a port from iOS to macOS (and vice versa) is not so hard and if the mac version will be a success they might do a windows port.

I think Apple has more to be concerned with nowadays. Things are not shining so bright anymore. iPhone sales dropped considerably, and tablet sales also fall behind predictions.Cinebient wrote:Of course a port from iOS to macOS (and vice versa) is not so hard and if the mac version will be a success they might do a windows port.

Maybe but the market is saturated these days and they still sell more iPads than microsoft surface devices.fmr wrote:I think Apple has more to be concerned with nowadays. The next iPad Pro comes soon and maybe will be faster than my macbook pro.
But yeah, i wish really Apple would offer a really "pro" multi-touch device (at least with a kind of iOS pro version) or would put the same amount of work into their mac's.
But then Microsoft seems to grow slowly in general with their surface models.
Like said in another thread, Microsoft might be new Apple and Apple will be the new Nokia in a few years
Sure is, Linux will never rise up....it seems still stuck forever into the "nerds" phase.

Those devices have slowed sales because the economy, and they are still mostly catalogue devices, Apple is making a ton of money off those devices via the app store, even the old devices that are not upgraded are still making a ton of money.
They are an unstoppable behemoth at this point.

I hope they release the plug-in collection separatly as certainly à lot of people don't need another DAW.

All what counts for Apple today is stock market. As long those analysts will say thumps up, Apple will continue to bring us useless hardware and software. Also audio users are totally not important to Apple. Korg on the other hand often produces really good and useful hardware. Why should korg have an interest to be bought by Apple? To be destroyed sooner or later? Only producing toys or hipster shit from now on?
I don't think that a Windows port will come, because of the used programming languages and apis ,but who knows.

But from all companies which creates computing hard- and software Apple is still the one who cares the most about audio(production).
Microsoft? Where is their multi-touch DAW?
Surface Pro 4 had/has more trouble with audio than the Surface Pro 3.
Logic still gets updates and is the best bang for money from all DAW's.
Core Audio, easy plug and play with most midi and bluetooth devices.
So even if they seems to care less these days, they still have the only usable multi-touch OS and still a great desktop OS for audio.
I'm just still scared the macOS will die out slowly and some day there is only iOS!

The iPad line sell more than all Microsoft surface devices in their entirety. That's why Microsoft is secretive about surface sales figures.
As for iPhone 7 sales. Yes sales have slowed down but they still make ridiculous amounts of money. And more profits than their nearest competitors. The only difference is that they are making a slightly less ridiculous amount of money than they were before.

I hope the price is good. And I wonder if they will be selling this on the App Store.Cinebient wrote:Of course a port from iOS to macOS (and vice versa) is not so hard and if the mac version will be a success they might do a windows port.

To be taken seriously, one should try to limit laughable hyperbole as much as possible.Hanz Meyzer wrote:All what counts for Apple today is stock market. Logic X isn't "useless". Final Cut Pro X isn't "useless". Compressor isn't "useless". To just mention a few examples of smart and stable software that I use myself, professionally, on a Macbook Pro and on a Macbook Air.
You're making a fool of yourself with posts like the above one, Mr. Meyzer.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

It might be a bit over the top but there is clearly less and less interest for them in the pro area.Spitfire31 wrote:To be taken seriously, one should try to limit laughable hyperbole as much as possible.Hanz Meyzer wrote:All what counts for Apple today is stock market. Consumers rule the world.
If they would make iOS more "pro" i would give a shit about macOS
At the end i don't care about brands and just use and buy what i think is the best for my needs.
But a change can be hard because of the eco system you are catched in. Especially in the mobile world where you can't use your tools on another OS or hardware.

To be fair, Apple have less interest in the Professional media creation market than they used to have, but that does not mean they have no interest.
But saying things like "We would not have gadget if it wasn't for the iPad is complete stupidity, Korg chose iPad first, we have no idea if Gadget would have existed without iPad, it is just a computer.
All this nonsense talk is just that, lets get back to gadget, Apples stock price is not so important.
