Well first with vintage analog synths 3 full featured Oscs were not that common at all, especially with polyphonic ones. Besides that not all synths that offer a ton of features could also create a convincing emulation of the Minimoog sound which is one main point about The Legend (while it also offers a few advanced features). It is not a proper emulation of the Memorymoog which does not mean you could not try to replicate certain Memorymoog patches with it (and at least the filter seems to be quite similar).

Obviously you are not interested in an emulation like The Legend, even if it contains additional features compared to the original hardware synth.

I posted the free Synth Brass presets to be used by those who like the synth as i do (and for those who maybe even like Synth Brass sounds like i do...) and not having them discussed by people who more or less give a f**k about this specific synth.

FWIW i got a lot of other synths with more features than The Legend too which does not mean that The Legend could not be great the way it is. If you are exactly TAHt kind of sound it doe not make much sense trying to replace this with otehr synths anyway. If you are not interested in THAT kind of sound then just ignore the synth and try to move on...

Oh well, I think I'll pass then
Would be better to reduce the noise-free demo period from 4 to 2 weeks and from then on, like with other plugins, periodic bursts of white noise or silence till the end of time...
Yes, I agree. I demoed RePro-1 about 3 times in 3 periods of time then I bought it. Sure it remained more than one month installed.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

@Ingo

Well, I am interested in this topic insofar as the Minimoog is a classic synth, which I have never played or even seen in real life, though. So, with the Legend being a faithful emulation, I could kind of explore the Minimoog without having access to it  Well, at least as long as the demo lasted :hihi: Legend is as close as I will ever get to a Minimoog.

Indeed, why would I want an entire arsenal of synth plugins? Unlike professional sound designers or musicians my life does not revolve around music and synths in particular. Three is enough for me

No idea where you get the crap accusation from, I would hardly say something as negative about any synth. Then again, I am not really happy with any synth I have tried so far. They all have their issues and limits. And I doubt that will ever change.

I do like brass as well, else I would not even have commented on the audio you had posted...

I suppose that is what they don't want to happen :hihi: They like impulse buyers...

So what did I miss ? I'm sorry but I've been busy having a lot of fun actually playing The Legend and even making patches for it without the need for patch sheets....

Well, the fact that i also re-create patches from patch sheets (this time from the Memorymoog manual) does not mean am not also doing my own patches from scratch. Same was true with my factory presets where beside re-programming the 100+ classic patches from Klaus P. Rausch (with kind permission) i also submitted my own ones made from scratch.
Besides that also trying to replicate patches from patch sheets could involve quite a lot of work and time.

They do sound extremely similar:

I would be from those "impulse buyers" if I had enough money in my account :hihi: (to be honest, I had, but I bought RePro~1 first :P )

Anyway, it is a closed topic for me now. I might think of it in the future, but for Moog sounds, I have Monark and the moog blocks in Reaktor. Still both are monophonic, but I might get Diva for polyphonic analog (u-he support is outstanding and extremely friendly even when I sold some of their synths! You don't feel the gloomy faces like some others, or taking all they gave you for free *ahem RP ahem* :hihi: )

I'm off then and out of this topic :)

How do you think that "adding a few days to the expired demo" should happen? Technically this seems to be a bit difficult.

On the other hand if you were not able to decide to get it or not until now would a few days more make a real difference then?

What would the "some things to check before buying" have been? Is that about certain features, about the sound or technical stuff?

Well your comment about the patch sheets here did sound like an insult that i am not able to program my own sounds from scratch even if i had programmed countless of my own patches for multiple synths in the past and also programmed a bunch from scratch for The Legend.

I don't know how and I don't think it's difficult. As there is a flag to check to make the demo not functional, there is a flag to do the opposite, but this is not really my disappointment with Synapse Audio support, it is ignoring my email. It is not nice to ignore an email especially from a customer (I already have Dune2).

What I wanted to check is how useful would be the polyphony for such synth and how it compares to Retrologue or Diva demo or LuSH in pads. Anyway, I don't want anything now :)

So a month wasnt long enough to demo a synth???

Post

I don't know, it takes me a couple of hours at worst to decide if I like, need and / or want a synth.
