Me too, but that is NOT how the real-world works. It just isn't, I hate it more than anyone but that is the way it is.

Reason did that to me, many people complained about v9, and many people still have not upgraded (including me). The point is, it felt like a .x update.

I think others feel that way about cubase 9, except people are reporting more stability. I don't know why people have to pay for that

Not sure what you mean.

Maybe they are planning to do like firefox, opera and other browsers did, go from incremental updates to having 5-10 versions a year

Yes, I think if this had been launched as 1.5 paid update for say 80 USD it would have been very well received and possibly generated more revenue if more people took the update strait away rather than wait to see what happens with the subscription.

That said, I personally feel like I had good value with v1, there were some major free updates and I want Bitwig to succeed so will back them for at least one more version.

It's always like that. The vocal people are the one that are not happy. Considering Bitwig must have thousands customers I'm pretty certain that people rantings are a minority.

Speaking as a BWS fan and long term user, I would 'guess' the majority of users are a little disappointed the V2 touted features such as an open modular system and 'network' sharing didn't make this update (whatever happened to network sharing, seems not even to be discussed).

That said, some stuff if there I wasn't expecting and I have gotten over my initial disappointment and now look forward to playing with the demo, again, I guess that will be the case for most people- even if they are annoyed they will try the V2 demo, and probably like it!

I don't think so, they are exhibiting with a modular synth manufacturer so I suspect the 'collaboration' is the CV/Gate side of things....

Exactly. That's also why the internet sucks sometimes, because it's basically just one big platform for the vocal minority around the world. Guess if you don't get heard in the real world, you'll have to shout in the cyber world, and even get approval by like-minded peeps.

If it really is a Bastl USB-to-CV interface that integrates well with the new BWS modules while being cross-platform and more affordable than the Expert Sleepers solutions, it's really hot stuff tbh.
