I wonder what "Bitwig's reputation" is. I mean, inside and outside the internet world. Hope that any of the hipsters in this thread, who obviously know everything, can tell a mere human like me.

What kind of a statement is this anyways? Did you think before you wrote it?chk071 wrote:I wonder what "Bitwig's reputation" is. I mean, inside and outside the internet world. Hope that any of the hipsters in this thread, who obviously know everything, can tell a mere human like me.

I know a lot of you guys bought Bitwig as a secondary DAW to be interesting to follow up in the development and soon to be added online collaboration + modular features.
I got Bitwig as my primary and first "real" daw as an affordable alternative to Live. I had been messing around for years with Maschine and Renoise not being able to produce more than silly loops. With Bitwig I managed to finish a song and have success with it. I'm very happy with that.
I don't need all the stuff promised for V2, even though I understand the disappointments for those who really was hoping for them. The main big thing for me now is the new subscription model which really makes Bitwig expensive. Like should I now pay 159 euros for bug fixes and resizable tracks and a spectrum analyzer?

Bit: "the new pricetag is really weird. it looks simple, but the details are overwhelming"
Wig: "it's our new modular approach, but it'll need years to be enfolded completely."
