It's been a while since I've posted here. All those monthly competitions are keeping me busy. :D

This is actually a "maxi" version of a tune I did which consisted of 3 different styles. This was the beginning and I liked it so much I made a whole tune out of it 8)

Any feedback will be appreciated.

It's called "Riding high".

In a few words: Very energetic tune, very good mix! Though there isn't actually a hook line in it, the track does not get boring. There's always a break at the right time. Nice strings at 3.30 min. I'm not a big fan of guitars, but you did not misuse 'em. :) Thumbs up.

Sounds good, but I think the drums could do with more bollocks, didn't quite have the impact I thought they would when they came in. The guitar also sounds a little out of tune with the track, I don't mind it though, gives it a bit of a rough and dirty feel.

Same here, they seem to float around the speakers a bit too much and not kick me where it hurts. nice tune tho, very, very CM sounding.

Thanks guys.

Not smack enough. I think I might have gone over the top with the mastering and sqeezed the kick and snare too much. Will look into that.
Damn, rubbish nearfields :x

good top quality track.

but I agree with the drums.

you most certainly did a good job on fleshing this one out.. didnt you? :)

this could easily be part of a big budget music soundtrack.. I mean.. really... you should consider trying to find ways to get your music in movies.. this would fit perfectly in a good action film!

I dont know if you were going for a film feel.. but it really does sound topnotch and would fill that niche perfectly.

I like the break starting at 3:15 the most.. the drone in the background really works well too.. as all as the many 'stab' melodies and sounds that occasionally come in to the mix..

only thing I didnt like about the song is the electric guitars.. but maybe thats an opinion based on likes.. (im not big on electric guitars)
though the sequencing is nice.. sounds like you are jamming out! hehe

all in all.. I think I'd give this song between an 8.5 and a 9. In my opinion, your strongest gift here is attention to detail.. the song sounds very polished.

very good job!

i think if they made blade 3 this song would be in it. kind of a crystal method sound. very, very cool. 8)

This is a great tune. I wouldn't be too disappointed if you didn't change too much except for some of the drum suggestions.

An agressive notchy rap track I think would add some interesting color to the song. ie:(limp bizkit)

Great tune...........

Wicked tune! Agree about the drums. Not much punch there...tune varies a hell of a load more than stuff i write...makes my music look dull! Spot on.

Excellent tune man.

Reminds very much of the countless hours of playing The Last Ninja 2 on the C64 as a kid. If that game was made today, this tune would be in it.

Keep up the good work!

sound-wise, more balls to the drums and well setup singleband mastering compressor that pumps just right is the ticket.

ok ok ok... I get it now. More weight on the drums.
Hopefully that 18 dB increase at 80 hz will do :D

I have uploaded a more smacking version. I hope that's enough. :? I'm sure you will let me know if it isn't

Danielmm: finally somebody who "get it" in regards to the guitar. 8)

Kingston: Last ninja 1 and 2 used to be my favorite games on C64 as well. You wouldn't happen to have a pc version would you running on C64 emulation off course. Amiga version was disappointing.

Tiptop energetic tune :)

Like said, lots of detail and a cool ending. A joy to turn up the volume on this one.
