Apart from the shite already mentioned I give you - Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants.

You see, even genius can't pull it off. A few good tunes at best and he never produced anything worth a toss afterwards.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here
Electtic Light Orchestra - Eldorado
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds*
Frank Zappa - Apostrophe*

* Arguable if these can be called true concept albums, but they are very good and common themes run through them, so....
We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

@ Jens,

Yeah, Ever is my favorite too. But as a concept album I think the Wake is more a concept then Ever.
But Ever is so very very good, it sounds nice too :)

Their latest album, Dark Matter, is stunning.
I have all their albums, and they are all great.
Well, nine in a pond isn't and J'ai polette d'Arnu is also for fans only... But I am a fan!

Did I already mention that Ever is great?

Didn't The Beatles (or was it George Martin) admit that Sgt. Pepper's stopped being a concept album after the second song?

Anyway, some newer concept albums that I thought were good:

NIN - The Downward Spiral
Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk

If you don't already have I advise you to listen to 'the cross and the crucible' by Pallas.
Imo it's their best album. Also check out the first Jadis album 'more than meets the eye' :D
