>>Didn't The Beatles (or was it George Martin) admit that Sgt. Pepper's stopped being a concept album after the second song?
Yeah, but it started back up as one with the reprise. :->
Seriously, it was a concept album because it was presented as one, but it's pretty much the one that got the whole nasty concept album idea rolling.

he moved to Leipzig if I recall it correctly - once I tried to track him down (google etc.) but was anluckyMrM wrote:Jens; And all 3 albums by Chandelier ; I love that band.
So sad they called it a day, what is Martin doing these days?
I once auditioned as a bass-player for a band who had shared the rehearsal-room with them (it was after their split) - the bass-player and drummer on 'timecode' engineered them or something... (they all were close friends)
- wait - I still have a demo-cd from them somewhere somewhere...

just checked the credits: Stephan Scholz did the recordings... - and in the credits they thank amongst others Thomas Jarzina, Herribert Rubarth and Andrea Kukelhorn (guest-vox on 'Timecode' - edit : wrong
)
- I can make mp3's out of it and e-mail them to you in case you're interested.

Hmmm, apart from Voivod and The Who, it appears to be another list of horrible old p**g r**k bands.
One day I'll finish me 'farmers' concept album, the concept being that farmers are bastards and the countryside is shit.

OK, sorry for stealing the thread.
I'll make it up by saying that another fine concept album is;
PTS - Campaign
Great guitar playing, good concept.
'Love and War'
And it is rather proggie
I could post a sample if anyone is interested...

I agree with so many here I can't list them all, yet I find it rather odd that Alice Coopers name never came up, especially "Goes to Hell" and Rick Wakeman's "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Probably cause the only decent song on Goes to hell is 'Go to hell'..& maybe including 'Wish you were here' & 'I'm the coolest'.hink wrote:I agree with so many here I can't list them all, yet I find it rather odd that Alice Coopers name never came up, especially "Goes to Hell" and Rick Wakeman's "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
The rest is garbage.
Which is a shame, cause I have a really hard time deciding which of the pre/post '75 bands were better..Both were amazing, but the later guys got the real shit material..
