I'll finally be using this plugin I bought many many years ago
Great gui, love it.

Would make the plug affordable to a lot more users, and would thus help the resurgence of it.
But other vendors, like Arturia, Linplug (to mention some examples) have marked down the prices of their plugs.brainzistor wrote:I think that you are underestimating it because even though Sytrus is 10+ years old it's highly relevant today
That's all true, but those companies at the same time are not selling DAW for $200 with their xyz synth included in it, aren't they? Sytrus has been an Image-Line's flagship synth for years and nowadays it shares that spot with Harmor.Numanoid wrote: But other vendors, like Arturia, Linplug (to mention some examples) have marked down the prices of their plugs.
The market is much more saturated than it was 10 years ago.
I think that you are making a bad analogy. It's like asking why a newbie should buy Sylenth1 when he can have Synth1 for free with over 20.000 of presets available. I mean, with such analogy it makes no sense to buy or even to own any other synth.Today, why should a newbie invest in Sytrus or FM8, when can have Dexed for free ?

Just goes to show that Sytrus standalone is overpriced.brainzistor wrote:That's all true, but those companies at the same time are not selling DAW for $200 with their xyz synth included in it, aren't they? The vst version isn't included in that fl studio version. Sure, the fl version is included, but the vsti must be bought seperatly.Numanoid wrote:Just goes to show that Sytrus standalone is overpriced.brainzistor wrote:That's all true, but those companies at the same time are not selling DAW for $200 with their xyz synth included in it, aren't they? I mean if it is included with FL Studio at $200, why sell it for $179 by itself ?

No, the FL version is included (free of charge in the DAW). Not the VSTi version (179 as a VSTi).brainzistor wrote:Numanoid wrote: Just goes to show that Sytrus standalone is overpriced.

I wrote this in my first reply, yet you are going back to it again:

I didn't say anywhere that you are getting VSTi version by buying FL Studio PE.exmatproton wrote: No, the FL version is included (free of charge in the DAW). Not the VSTi version (179 as a VSTi).
It is quite simple;
If you go for the DAW, IL gives you the FL version.
If you use another DAW and want/need Sytrus, you will pay for the VSTi version of the synth. Which, in my books, seems pretty reasonable.
