Have you ever held a badass record at a record store that you wanted, and not buy it, and then regret it for the rest of your life?

The other day i was holding Hybrid - "Finished Symphony". I went home without it and went to sleep. I woke the next day wanting to stab my own balls. I havent seen this hard-to-find record since. :dog:

This is the third time this has happened to me now, the previous tracks being BT - "Godspeed" and Tilt's remix of "Children".

Has this ever happened to you?

A record-store in Arnhem, several years ago:

Coil/Zos Kia! Wow! In this shop!
Hmmm... out of money.
I wonder how many people in Arnhem even know about these guys. Should I... naaah... it can wait.

It couldn't.

Not as bad though as what happened to me in my old home town.
Enormous bunch of records dumped in the second-hand bin of My Favourite Record Store.
Current 93, Nurse With Wound, Hafler Trio, Organum, you get the idea. "Not really my cup of tea", I thought at the time, and went home with, dunno, Big Black or something. Not bad, of course, but most of the records in that bin, that day are now 1) very much my cup of tea, 2) very hard to find and/or 3) going for stupid prices on eBay.
That day, I skipped a somewhat garish looking record, all red white and black, because it didn't look very "industrial" (hey, I was a clueless teenager).
Later, I found out this record was test Dept.'s Shoulder To Shoulder, rather limited, impossible to find in The Neitherlands and ranking no. 1 on my most wanted list.
Aaaarg!

I agonized for a long time in 1987 over a choice I had to make between 'Horii' and 'Tower of Silence' by Organum. Fortunately it's all on cd now...

Here in Montreal such artifacts are still relatively common, and not necessarily expensive, if you know where too look - certain artists tend to disappear faster than others (It's actually much harder to find Big Black records here!)...
There used to be a store here in the 80's that stocked a lot of cassette-only things that I wish I'd snatched up more of at the time (but I had less cashflow in those days)... I know I'll never see those Ewald Spiss tapes again...

That being said, there seems to be very little left from that era that hasn't been reissued in some form or other (could somebody reissue the 1982-84 Broken Flag compilations, please? Haven't been able to trace anything other than 'Statement' and 'Neuengamme')

Now, when I find some rare relic, I don't take chances anymore.

The Warsaw (Joy Division) direct cut album, in my local record shop. New, unplayed and only a couple of quid. I was broke and by the time I'd ponced the cash... you know the rest.
