Let's say you came across a K5 lib that you thought sounded great, but the GUI was either unfavorable or just had Kontakts default GUI - no customized scripting what so ever. Would this affect your decision to purchase the library?

Thanks.

Good question.

I like to think that I would not be influenced by this. I still have (and use) the now very old Spectrasonics Distorted Reality 2, Bizarre Guitar in AKAI format, though I've converted them to Kontakt, and they of course simply have the default Kontakt interface which is fun and fiddly all at the same time

Nah. If it sounded good and the instruments were playable... Oh look a Kontakt Instrument with wood panel GUI. I'm buying it.

Interesting question.....

It used to be that people who owned Kontakt were more interested in the sample content and looked forward to what they could do with it.

Now? Who knows?

Thanks guys. The feeling is mutual. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth i use to buy a lot of Zero-g libraries. All of the ones i purchased had Kontakts default GUI as the main layout, but the sounds were stellar and had no problem using them in my compositions. Basically the look (or lack thereof) didn't interfere with my workflow or inspiration.

but yeah..who knows what the consensus is today. :?:
