wow, that's very generous of them. good to hear!

EDIT: cool, it works! damn, this is a great synth. love that filter. just moved up a few notches on my "to buy" list.

Do i need this one?
hard to say which is "better", but they're different enough that it might be worth having both. whether or not is up to you.
chk071 wrote:This has some stuff that Monark doesn't have. Like ... bandpass filter ...
'Monark' has a bandpass filter as well.

Of course i have to demo myself and decision is all mine, but i just wanna know you guys thought.
Yes you need The Legend..... (then you can sell Monark).
I missed the brouhaha... self-imposed synth moratorium... I have Dune2, and I think it's my favorite synth, actually. So do I need The Legend? Wait, don't answer. Yes. Yes I do. This thing is fantastic. The only question then is: should I wait for another generous synapse sale? No. No I should not. I need to unlock this Bad Larry ASAP.
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Done and done. Now my two favorite synths are from Synapse Audio. Does that make me a fanboi?

Thanks guys for your opinion.

In fact, I can get student discount as i'm a graduate stu., So It was quiet tempting to me.

But They say that I can not make a money from the legend with Educational license. So.. I'll pass it. :(

The website doesn't mention it yet, but if you go to the download section it is there.
Very cool update!
Fantastic!

Countdown to a new soundbank begins....

What ? Who told you that you can't make money from The Legend with an Educational License ? :?

"Please note that educational licenses are NFR (not for resale) and cannot be used for commercial purposes.
The 50% discount applies to the regular shop prices - special offers are exempt."

I asked about it, and they told me:

"It means that you have any profits / earn money for your music, sound
or sample which has been made by using the product under educational license,
directly or undirectly or in connection with any business."

Is that a common practice ? I'm long since past having a student discount so I don't know if those are usual conditions or not. :?

The new v1.10 version of The Legend besides the new velocity/aftertouch features and the Bandpass filter modes also includes some new presets (at least in the full version). As far as icould see a few presets also seemed to be updated with velocity/aftertouch.

The new presets also include some of the new Synth Brass patches i had published at KVR in the Soundware forum and a Bandpass Strings patch.

The Synth Brass patches in my colection (currently 47 patches) already support the new aftertouch feature for either the Cutoff or the mod amount.

Like I said in my edit above it's been quite awhile since I was a student so I didn't know if that was a common restriction for Educational Licenses or not. :?

Oh well...it's worth the extra $50 in my opinion.

I think it is not common.
There are a lot of company s.t. just discount the price without any restriction.
Of course, there are companies like synapse, steinburg...etc.

Well I doubt at this point in my life I'll be going back to school so it won't affect me but I'm sorry you won't be getting The Legend. It sounds awesome and is a ton of fun to play. :?
