Went backward through page 87 (I'm left handed, so wasn't too difficult)... didn't see a lot of "advertising" per se... just a few links to some free patches and lots of techie talk about filters and oscillators 'n stuff...

Well this HUGE trouble today started after first posting links to existing commercial and free patches for The Legend and then posting 7 FREE patches that use the new Bandpass mode in v1.10. This was without any actual "advertisement" from my side as all my own patches are either free or in the factory content and besides that i do not own one of those commercial sets yet so that i could "praise" one of those here.

While cleaning the links i also removed those i added today while as mentioned multiple times there is another source for my free patches now (except the new ones from today that might be added later there). it's like i just killed someone...

One more thing I forgot to mention about the update- the trial period is reset with the v1.1 update. A couple people asked in the past months if they could try again, so here's a chance to do so

Yes, absolutely.

I don't see much talk about it, even though the moog ladder LP 24dB filter is one of (if not THE) most important, signature aspects of the minimoog. I think it was excellently modeled. I remember what brok landers (BigTone, co-developer of The Legend) said about it: "then there's, obviously the cascaded ladder filter which the minimoog is so famous for, which interacts with several filter-internal gainstages and dc-offsetfactors, of which the typical, characteristic drive behaviour comes from. the vca stage does the rest of the silky and round sound. also, the minimoog ladder, due to some kind of highpass in the feedback of the filter, is flat response at max resonance, down to around 150-100hz (depending on how carefully the original was maintained and serviced), then the resonance rapidly drops off into nirvana. this also is the reason, why the mini handles basses so well, as the resonance, as soon it reaches the first few harmonics of the osc, doesn't overlay these, as it drops away in level at below this frequency.". Even the 12dB one and the BPs sound amazing with the moogish filter topology, character and saturation included.

BTW certain sound designers do advertising in many threads all the time (even if it's "just" audio demos but sometimes also links to the product) and nobody really complains there (and many times what they post is also helpful...) but if i post a few free patches here it's like i just killed someone...

Ah,,but consider that not everyone is wanting or expecting that outside the soundware threads. So sometimes some people will just go against that behavior in Instrument threads. And they have "a point" doing so, imho.

I have most preset/bank/patch creators on KVR on my ignore list. Since most talk they do (in my experience) is about their own patches (and i really don't care about those patches; if i would care, i would go to the soundware threads... )

However, since many people like to hear about fresh/free/new patches (in the instrument threads for instance), i won't be arguing about that behavior with those people. I just put them on my ignore list.

Ingo, you seem to be overreacting. As I've said, posting free patches in a synth thread should be completely fine and if some people have more free time than brains this shouldn't be your problem or a problem for those who want to check out the patches.

Well, the filters are indeed awesome, including the new BP filters. The free BPF patches posted today were thought as a contribution to the discussion about those but obviously this was an epic fail due the derailmentthat developed from this.
For the audio demo i had posted yesterday using a layer of a BP patch (played using an Ensemble FX) and a Brass sound there was not even a single comment also as people preferred to derail the thread with another off topic discussion.

Some people prefer to talk and exchange, some post music, some post audio examples, some enjoy listening, some like to discuss, and, finally, some (very few) people think they are moderators, that they can dictate their obscure laws, make ad hominem attacks, and that Kvr belong to them, often presented as if they spoke for 'all of us' (on KVR two is a crowd). Truth is : Kvr belongs to this 'all of us' they just don't represent.

I've always thought that music instruments, and music & sound, were more than related : they are a whole.

So : Thanks for the audio demos, presets, infos, and everything. I won't speak for everybody, but I enjoyed listening to them. they give a good idea of how a synthesizer can sound. ( And now time for the other guy to have some sweet words for me, that I unfortunately won't read)

Sorry but i just posted a new demo (and the old oene again) which is about the new BPF and i do not want to derail this thraed with ar discussion about other and/or old stuff (or another trolling atempt).

The point is that the Monark patches are still available (see the link above). Discussion ended.
