Just like I don't have to be an osc competitor, I don't have to participate as a criminal, policeman or lawyer in the legal industry to make an observed judgement.

The thing is... unless some mod "cleans up" in here (which might happen), people will see the behavior of this "mighty fine and flawless community".

It's NOT a flawless community. It's NOT mighty fine.
People here are regular human beings, besides having a synth brain.

But it's a great place to be, chatting about synths AND: helping each other to grow in every aspect of musicianship.

Also: we're not legal experts, at least most of us aren't. Advice in legal issues is appreciated and truly in the spirit of the community.

And...there's another thing: every once in a while, page after page gets hijacked because of some minor or major issue about whatever. Regular readers and posters know exactly when things start getting ugly:
- when sarcastic remarks about the entire community are posted.

We have reached that point now. Sadly.

On another note, yes... Spotify don't like India. I don't know why.. .. But a couple of reason could be local players of music streaming service and availability of Bollywood music on spotify for consumption of local Indian listener. I have read some news that they are planning to come to India, but not sure when.

However, They have given a special privilege to me to let me know first when they arrive my home.

Currently I can publish to: 24-7 Entertainment, Deezer, iTunes, ,Juke Streaming, Spotify, TargetMedia.
The website mentions these too, but I don't see them in my publishing tab so they probably don't apply or something.

For now I've just enabled Spotify, because that one can be listened to (unlimited) with a free account.
I've disabled the other services by request of bjporter.
If there are people who finish in the top 5 and like to be published to other services I personally see no problem in that. Their music, their choice.
But for now it's just Spotify.

Once again: Just to be clear

• It is OPT-IN, only with clearance from the artist I can/will upload the songs.
  There still seems some misunderstanding about that and I can understand that because, initially I have uploaded the songs by mistake. Imagine that, I made a mistake. I thought I had approval but there was a miscommunication between me and bjporter. He thought the top 5 had contacted me, I thought the top 5 contacted him.
  After we found out (thanks @brainzistor !! ) I immediately took action and corrected the mistake. I contacted the people involved by pm. They responded swiftly and said this is a fun idea and I got clearance. For archiving purposous I made a screenshot of these messages, not going to share that here, because they are private messages. It's between me and them.
• You can at any given time retract your songs from Spotify (or any other portal). Bare in mind this is not instantaneous.
  The portals update their databases periodically. It took a couple of days for the songs to be picked up by Spotify, it will take a couple of days for them to be removed.
• The revenue of these services will probably be low. Very, very low. This article states numbers like, $ 0,0011 per play, so we need 90909 plays to earn $100.
  It will be not practical to pay back each individual artist. I, and others thought it would be charming the collect these funds and do something nice for the OSC.
  could be prize money (boring)
  could be plugins (ok)
  could be merchandise (awesome)
  
  could be donating to a charity (even more awesome)
  could be something you come up with and is an awesome idea, just let us know
• Statistics will be made available of course. For now the statistics aren't up to date,there is nothing to show. It's empty. I'm actually very curious how many plays we get.
• If somehow we get about a millions of plays and there is serious money to be made with these tracks we should have a look at it again.

Just getting sick of Compyfox and Aliens (I still believe they are the same person anyway) keep on hammering on a mistake corrected a couple of days ago.
They/he can't have the last word.
Because if I don't defend and respond anymore and people read this thread it will look like I've given in, or got scared away.

Why would I post screenshots and links to the portals if I intend to steal money in secret?
Now if you respond with pages and pages of accusations, people forget, completely miss information, how this started in the first place and what is really going on.

You Compyfox started a war on me and the OSC. Throwing up so much smoke and mirrors everybody loses track. You purposely spread FUD; Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. That's a bad thing.

Here's a little story which reminds me of you.
There's another forum where I'm involved.
There was this guy; every thread he had something to say about software licences how wrong it was to use particular software and went on and on about it. Even in a thread describing a forest trail he brought up how evil proprietary software is. Honest, the OP even showed pictures, it was an actual forest trail.
I responded with : the guy is not right in the head.
I was ashamed and shocked when he replied : "you are right, I take medication but I have trouble paying for these"
Instead of being mad at the guy, I felt sorry for him. Just left him alone and tried to be more supportive.
Since then I've become a little weary when I see certain behaviour in forums.

I can't look in peoples head and heart.
You can't look into mine.
