Question / Feature Request (quantizer+expanded midi patcher)

thats the point.. live modwheel input doesn't get through the parts/arps, so I'd need a device which has 2 midi inputs: 1 for the note data, and another for strictly CC data (directly from the master midi input).

Well it's not gonna happen as a VST. I already described how to do it, but the VST specification only allows for a single midi in. And of course jorgen can do whatever he wants with his components inside XT...but you already have a solution to your problem...
Here is a preset to show you how.
(requires PolyIblt and the Velocity Scaler)

You can route multiple midi connections to the same midi in port in eXT if that helps...

Jorgen: the problem is that I don't know how to filter out note on/off data from the CC input connection (well NicFit seemed to do with a midi patcher.. altho I don't really understand what that setting does in there.. its working apparently)

I'm sorry ...I should have explained it betterxRAVENx wrote:Jorgen: the problem is that I don't know how to filter out note on/off data from the CC input connection (well NicFit seemed to do with a midi patcher.. altho I don't really understand what that setting does in there.. its working apparently)
The MIDI Patcher lets you set the Note range that will be passed through to each output.
By setting C-2 as the lowest note in the range...
C-2 as the highest note in the range...
0 as the lowest velocity and also highest velocity of the range...
now only C-2 notes with a velocity of 0(note-off) will be allowed to pass through the Patcher, unless your controller is 10 octaves you probably don't even have this note# to trigger, and if you did it would be recognised as only a Note-Off message. But your controller messages and NRPN (Program change, Pitch bend, etc...)are not affected, so essentially I'm using the MIDI Patcher as a note filter.
...sorry I'm not a great communicator

thanks for the explanation NicFit, get it now
btw, is there a way to freely assign note triggers to audio parts? or are all audio parts on C1 by default?
thanks!

Yes the Audio Parts trigger notes are fixed. But you can use a MIDI Patcher to force a A#4 note to be a C1 note. Also I like to use a MIDI Part component to trigger the AudioParts...that way I can set the note length of the trigger and avoid clicks. And with "FR" mode on I don't need to make sure I hold the key till the part plays till the end. ...I'll see if I can extract an example from one of my projects.xRAVENx wrote:thanks for the explanation NicFit, get it now
