Well, I didn't own a Minimoog but had a Sonic Six back in the late 70s and that thing drifted like crazy. One of the reasons why I hated that thing. It never stayed in tune. lol.Ingonator wrote:The full version has an INIT patch for both the synth and teh FX version but i also have my own one.wagtunes wrote:Somebody who actually owns the full version, is there an init patch? Thanks. Will be buying this today.
FWIW i use an Osc keytracking amount of 1.30 (INIT patch uses 1.00) but others seem to use different values. Too low values below 1.00 or even negative ones do not seems to be recommended.
Usually i also use Osc Drift where the amount id amatter of taste.

There also seems to be a difference with tuning stability when using the Late (= default) or Eaarly revison modes in The Legend. The Early mode also has difference in the wave shapes, especially the Pulses.wagtunes wrote:Well, I didn't own a Minimoog but had a Sonic Six back in the late 70s and that thing drifted like crazy. Actually it offers several options to tweak teh sound beyond the main GUI controls. This also includes teh Cutoff and Resonance range or the ranges for the Filter and Osc modulation.
The adjustable curve at the back panel seems to be for the behavior of the mod amount ("MW") fader and/or the Modhweel control.
With the Poly mode you got an adustable stero spread and also Glide/Portamento works theer. The voices also seem to be slightly detuned like in a real polysynth.

Question: The back panel settings. Are they saved on a per patch basis or are they global? In other words, can I have different back panel settings for each patch?Ingonator wrote:There also seems to be a difference with tuning stability when using teh Late (= default) or Eaarly revison modes in THe Legend.wagtunes wrote:Well, I didn't own a Minimoog but had a Sonic Six back in the late 70s and that thing drifted like crazy. All settings at the front and back panel except the PB (pitch wheel) parameter seem to be saved.wagtunes wrote: Question: The back panel settings. Are they saved on a per patch basis or are they global? In other words, can I have different back panel settings for each patch?
The MIDI Learn feature on the other hand seems to be global.

That's kind of a bummer. I was planning on doing some patches using the keyboard controller sliders to, for example...Ingonator wrote:All settings at the front and back panel except the pitch wheel seem to be saved.wagtunes wrote: Question: The back panel settings. But if these assignments aren't saved per patch, this is all just wasted effort for distribution. Shame. Could have been really cool to do things with this that you could only do with the original via manually moving things with your hands.

I got a NI Komplete Kontrol S61 controller with the Komplete Kontrol and Maschine 2 software/plugins and could save my own NKS presets if i like and with differemnt controller settings for each NKS preset if necessary. The parameters assignalble to the knobs are all automatable paramaeters of the synth.wagtunes wrote: But if these assignments aren't saved per patch, this is all just wasted effort for distribution. I got a NKS preset for The Legend v1.10 where i mapped 62 parameters to 10 pages (each with 8 knobs).
Each of teh 9 knobs in teh keyboard controller has a display for the parameter name or the value (if you move the knob or touch the top of the knob). Als possible to add up to 8 section names below the parameter names (e.g. "Flt ENV" below the first of the 4 ADSR parameters and "Amp ENV ", both at the same page).
In the near future i plan doing NKS presets to my free Synth Brass collection and also for my other patches.
I could also simply use the knobs at the controller with MIDI Learn but thsi will work for all patches then.
Not sure if official support for NKS is planned for the future.

For the record I have no issue with posters, wether pro designers or not posting links to sounds/patches/YT etc. It gives a much greater resource as to what a synth can do. TBH there are far more random OT replies on this thread and many others than those by sound designers.

I had started a new, more "general purpose" presets thread (opposing to the more specific free Synth Brass thread) at the Soundware forum today:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2#p6695162
This also includes my own patches and demos that were posted at other places so far (including this thread).
