I’d like to introduce myself, I’m a music editor over at Earbits, a free online streaming service whose sole purpose is to help independent artists reach new listeners and convert those listeners to fans, while helping our audience discover great new music. We currently work with over 14,000 artists and have over 340,000 registered listeners. well...i took the bait.
at first glance it does seem pretty cool. kind of like digitally imported, but with more genres. im talking about this from a listener standpoint. this was posted here by earbits obviously because artists are the clients here...not listeners. i havent made an artist profile or seen any pricing, but they want you to put your music on there...and then pay for more/better exposure and stuff like that.
i wish the website was a little more forthcoming with pricing and what you get for a paid membership and that kind of stuff. from what i can see it looks like you have to sign up first before you can access that info...something that always throws up red flags for me. i dont know...maybe i missed it?
it also looks like what you get to hear is like basic soundcloud quality. youll hear some new interesting stuff...you might also hear some stuff thats not quite there yet.
