You can't tell. These are the best presets i've ever heard. I'd pay money for these!
Thanks. I really don't think there's any money in such a simple synth. The popularity MIGHT help but the lack of complexity makes it easy enough for most people with even just a basic knowledge of synthesis to do something decent.

So I really doubt I'll be doing a full blown library for this and probably just use it for my own songs whenever I need something that doesn't require me to spend hours getting a decent sound from.

Probably the best investment I'll make this year.
Oh c'mon man.... there was sarcasm all over that post! I thought you would know better...where's the war? :x

But seriously, as i like the fact you make an effort, i will download them and try them when i try the new update this w-end (super busy recently for studio time) :)

I have to admit that Wagtunes is NOT one of my favourite people here.
And I have gone to his website and I don't think I have liked the sound of any demo I have heard, but I downloaded these and quite like a few of them.
Thank you.

At the moment? Was it possible earlier

Ah, sarcasm. Must have missed that. Guess I should have known, not that it matters. I'm not in the mood to fight anymore.

Agree 100% (as ive said before) You've got to be a real simpleton to buy presets for a MM.

Well, I'm not one of anybody's favorite people around here. Kind of stopped caring about that when the new year came around.

But I am glad you liked some of the patches.

Wagtunes thanks for those patches! They're very good. Want to thank Ingo again for sharing his work too!

I think I'd suggested this in Gearslutz, but I'd really love to see a "Modern Legend" upgrade (maybe a $29 upgrade for existing users, and $149 new & $199 bundled with The Legend). I envision a separate plugin with features like:

1. 8 (or more) voice polyphony
2. Multiple filters that can be run in serial: HP, BP, LP with 12/24db options
3. Two dedicated LFO's
4. A simple mod-matrix
5. Osc Sync (mmm Prodigy)
6. Ring Mod
7. Cross-Modulation
8. A paraphonic mode like the Moog Rogue and Radioshack/Realistic/Moog-designed MG-1
9. Maybe a few more effects (chorus/flange, etc.)
10. Maybe a step sequencer or even a vocoder

Like I said, just a wish, but I think this would cover a lot of cool sonic territory building off what's already a fantastic feature set. Then again, that's practically the Moog in Diva (which I already own). ;-)

Anyway, that was me attempting to bring the thread back on topic...

And I'd still love to get a modifier in The Legend that links the Decay and Release knobs. So Ctrl+click and move either to link. This will simulate the release on/off button of the original.

A workaround is combining the synth plugin with the FX plugin of The Legend (while there is no HPF yet). If you route a MIDI track to the FX you could use most of the features like e.g. the envelopes, Oscs and modulation.

Yesterday i posted an audio demo using 2 BPFs in series (like expalned above), additionally with an external Ensemble and Reverb FX:

Yeah, same could be said for more effects and a step sequencer, it's just nice having everything in one package. Especially from a sound design perspective. I used to be one of those "no internal effects on a synth for me" types, but now I love them. It's a great boost to workflow to have multiple filters and internal effects built in, since the preset can be saved and recalled as the creator intended and they can always be shut-off if you think you have something that can do it better.

Let's face it, w/ the awesome power of so many high quality software synths at ones' fingertips, it's hard to not yearn for the bloat.
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Well, after the FX version and MIDI Learn were added last year adding aftertouch/velocity support (that many people asked for since The Legend was released) and two Bandpass filter modes (12dB/24dB) was already a big update IMO and currently i try to explore those new features with creating patches (and also trying to update old patches with aftertouch and/or velocity).

A 24dB BPF was quite rare with vintage analog synths (beyond modular systems) and no other Minimoog emulation seems to include this (Monark has a 12dB mode only and also other limitations compared to The Legend).

The BPFs in The Legend (and the two LPF modes) are resonant until self-oscillation.

With combining The Legend, the FX version of The Legend and Max For Live ("M4L") effects in LIve 9 Suite i could currently do this:

- dual LPF/BPF serial filter (12dB/24dB) (with the FX version of The Legend, including the built-in envelopes if a MIDI track is routed to the FX)
- polyphonic Unison (with the free Polymind M4L device)
- add LFOs to all automatble parameters (LFO device included with M4l Essential collection)
- add envelopes to all automatable parameters (Envelope device included with M4L Essential collection)
- add Modwheel, velocity, aftertouch, Pitchbend and Keytracking to all automatable parameters (Expression control included with M4L Essential collection)
- Step sequencer (Mono Sequencer included with M4L Essential collection)
- Arpeggiator (included in Live 9)

Of course like with every plugin i could also add external FXs.

I know that this could not be saved with a synth presets and that it only works with Live 9 Suite but still it is possible...

A few other hosts like e.g. Bitwig Studio seem to include comparable features (at least some of those).
Modular hosts/chainers like Bidule or MUX (both avaiilable as a VST) that are able to host VSTs could be helpful too.

You can save a set up like that as a template in other hosts. That way you can load multiple legends and 3rd party fx in one click. 8)

In Live 9 you could save combinations of an instrument and multiple effects (including Max For Live FXs) as Instrument racks.
