MScontrol offers stereo signal encoding into mid-side signal, decoding of mid-side signal into stereo signal and "onboard" mode to adjust the mid/side channels gain, panning and flip the phase without the need of using two plugin instances.

Nice freebie, thank you for the link.

However, does it do anything Voxengo MSED or A1 stereoControl doesn't (i like Voxengo's phasemeter) ?

Looks to be quite similar, MScontrol has a more hands on interface IMO.

I own Neogen by Tek'it, annoying that payware like that is still only Win 32 bit, while this new freebie is available for both Win and OSX, and 32 bit and 64 bit plugs.

The latest MSED has a goniometer display which this one doesn't seem to have so I think I will just stick with MSED.

It looks nice. No harm to subscribe (and unsubscribe again if need be).

Good question - is there an algorithmic influence on sound quality or are these kinds of utility plugins truly all performing the exact same sum/difference processing?

There is also bx_control which costs well over $100 and does much less than the free (and excellent) A1StereoControl does!

There's also the free Track Control from DMG audio, details here http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2016/12 ... ckcontrol/
