I really hope a step sequencer would be added to a future version, even if it is like a Legend 2. I really wish an emulation of ARP Sequencer with some similar modulations or something like this Moog Sequencer :-o

That means a lot of work because The next version of The Legend (v2? maybe!) would have some extra modulations for Pitch, Cutoff Freq, ...etc. Not as many as Arturia's Modular V, not even ARP 2600, but an 'advanced' version of The Legend that have some modulation destinations and a dual step sequencer as a modulation source.

(oh damn it! The GAS for having Bazille again to use that sequencer is itching my mind now! :help: ).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

While it is not really relevant for me i just had a look at the Propellerhead shop and the RE version was also updated to v1.10 now (it took some days longer than the VST/AU):

A post about the new RE update was added at Facebook around 12 hours ago:

I dont get why some ppl want to add a ton of stuff to Legend. Ok, its got a few extra bits already, but its a MiniMoog emulation. Either you want that, or you dont. Its a niche product.

If you want a bells and whistles moog, try Diva or somthing similar.

The beauty of Legend its its authenticity and quality. It nails it.

Or if you don't want the bells and whistles, don't use them!

Anyway, I talked about a new version, not this version. As with Dune1 and Dune2, I wish the same to happen with The Legend.

It wouldnt be Legend 2, as it would no longer be a MM emulation. It would be a generic VA, like so many already out there that already have the features you're asking for...

Post

Sure there's room in the market for both the original and a 'Legend Extended', based on the originals un generic quality sound, with requested add ons and extras implemented.
Apart from the coder and the person who has to count all the dollars, who could complain?

I'm sure not many care about The Legend being an exact MM emulation or not! It has already passed this point (polyphony, aftertouch, ..etc) anyway!

Yes, I like it like this one, small and simple but powerful, but I also like to have an extended version. And no, it won't be a generic VA like so many already there!! It would be an extended Legend with its own character that add to that of the original.

By the way, I know you are a moderator (or a VIP) in their forums, but are you involved in the decision making in Synapse Audio regarding future developments?

No, no and nope. Richard and Marcin are the only two in Synapse afaik.

Like you, i have ridiculous FR's. You'll be glad to know they ignore everyone equally on that front

Post

Well, they are free to take notes from us or to ignore any feature request, or suggestion. But, the recent 'reset the demo' action gives a hope that they listened to their potential clients :)

SA might include an XT (for extended) button, the toggling of which would enable and disable all controls and control options that go beyond the strict emulation, graying them out when disabled, like with some unavailable controls on Retrologue (here in the osc 1 section):

Nice video by Mr. Firechild showing that a Minimoog Model D (early Osc revision there) could also sound more modern (with the help of multitrack recording and effects):

The Legend v1.1 is now also officially announced at KVR:
http://www.kvraudio.com/news/synapse-au ... v1-1-36223
Synapse Audio has updated The Legend to v1.1.

This update adds a bandpass filter mode with two slopes, 12dB and 24dB. The bandpass filter is based on the same transistor ladder model as the lowpass filter is, and thus shares the same saturation characteristics.

Support for Velocity and Aftertouch has been added on the back panel. Velocity can be routed to volume or the filter, Aftertouch can be routed to the modulation amount or filter.

Furthermore, the factory library has been extended to a total of 480 patches, about 60 patches are new.

Just to be clear:

1. What I was suggesting was making a whole new plugin based on The Legend with extended features

2. What makes The Legend and Repro-1 so good is the quality of the oscs, filters, envelopes, etc. and how they all interact. A lot of "generic VA's" just don't sound as good. So yeah, asking for a new synth based on The Legend but with much more expanded features might be "just another VA" but I bet it would sound better than most other VA's. But yeah, the synth I described would be very close to the Moog in Diva, but then again, I mentioned that in my original post, so it's not like that concept was lost on me either.
