Omnisphere is worth it just for the content, Falcon really has no content

I love Falcon!! But come on Falcon and omnisphere are not even in the same category!! Omnisphere is hands down better, just because you can modulate everything with 1 million parameters doesn't mean it's better! Not undermining the possibilities of Falcon, Omnisphere is faster has a gigantic library and healthy amount of 3rd party presets!! Falcon is a niche product, omnisphere is commercial, with many many many production studios using it, where you can't say the same for Falcon

Wait, what?? Not in the same cat. but still you say one is better then the other?Wavegem wrote:I love Falcon!! But come on Falcon and omnisphere are not even in the same category!! Also, the amount of "studios" using it, doesn't make it better...vhs vs betamax anyone?
I would say they both do their thing. Falcon is the better synth/modular system. Omni is the better preset player (all imho ofcourse).

Falcon has much better filters and effects than Omnisphere, plus it has a much better options for manipulating and playing back samples.

If Falcon came with an effects version, owners would have no reason to buy the Sparkverb or Thorus plugins. Likewise, Omnisphere has some filters and effects that are licensed from other developers, so there won't be an effects version of it, either._TIP_ wrote:Also for that price, Falcon should be offering at least an Audio In, or even better a Vst Fx version of it like Serum does...
If you want to run other sources through either Falcon or Omnisphere, render the track you want to use as an audio file, then import it into either synth. It's not as elegant as having effect versions of them, but it does work.

I discover, the problem is even bipolar turned on.otristan wrote:Please upload a simple patch that exhibits the issue so I can have a look.Oberheim 8000 wrote: If bipolar is off, delay + raise is used for example 1s and Phase is on 0.25 or 0.75, LFO allways start at phase 0, then suddenly it jump on the desired phase and it produce "click" - it depends where it is used. For example you can hear it when you use LFO for pitch(12 semitons and maximum depth on LFO) or Filter.
Thanks !

Well, if that's the case, they could make a striped down version of sparkverb and thorus (Sparkverb is already missing some options comparing to the original plugin) or even remove those 2 effects and give us the rest as a VST plugin... Sorry but rendering and import the audio into Falcon is not a solution for me! Now about the comparison of Falcon and Omnisphere, there is no comparison in my opinion, they are 2 different things, Omnisphere is more ready to go as an instrument with a big soundbank and you could even consider it more as a Rompler since most of the patches are multisampled instruments, on the other hand Falcon has significant less content but it's also the most complete (all in one) instrument out there and it's giving you the option to use it as an advanced synth or just buy some sample based banks and use it as a sampler or as a rompler. So the whole thing here is like comparing Lionel Messi (Soccer Player) with Stephen Curry (Basketball Player) in a way (both great athletes but in different sports)! Also, if i remember right (please correct me if i'm wrong) all the Spectrasonics Instruments (VSTi's) were developed by UVI back in the days, not sure about now.DocAtlas wrote:If Falcon came with an effects version, owners would have no reason to buy the Sparkverb or Thorus plugins. The original Spectrasonics instruments' engines (Trilogy, Atmosphere, and Stylus) were developed by UVI, but with Stylus RMX, they started developing their plugins in-house._TIP_ wrote:Well, if that's the case, they could make a striped down version of sparkverb and thorus (Sparkverb is already missing some options comparing to the original plugin) or even remove those 2 effects and give us the rest as a VST plugin... It would be great if we could use Falcon as an effect, but based on things Otristan said quite a while ago, it's not likely to ever happen. Not that UVI isn't willing to listen to customers, but they do have to make decisions based upon what is in their best interests.

BTW, in falcon's sparkverb there is also one moment, or issue, i dont know: if you will try turning "size" knob during processed incoming signal (and set decay to maximum, for better reproduce), this is will cause large cpu usage, up to 100%._TIP_ wrote:DocAtlas wrote:(Sparkverb is already missing some options comparing to the original plugin)
In original (plugin) sparkverb no such behavior, fortunately (i really like this reverb, in plugin view).

I'm not afraid to fiddle about doing presets. It's just that I'm not very good at it and it's quite time consuming. I'm working on an Omni soundbank for personal use though. It's personal since nobody would touch itInLight-Tone wrote:A big +1 to Falcon and to Omnisphere as well. As mentioned above, Falcon is deeper than Omnisphere, but Omni has more patches, presets and sound libraries available for it so if you are afraid of getting your hands dirty, maybe Omnisphere is best.
That being said, both together cover most everything you'd want to do with Falcon being the most robust as far as possibilities long term...
I bought Keyscape at launch but I really need to dig into the omnisphere integration. So far I'm just playing the rhodes patches!
UVI recently had a huge sale where Falcon was reduced as well - hopefully they'll do another. £349 is a bit steep for my at the moment but that'll change.

NOT UVI workstation libraries... they dont make any use of Falcon at all. Kontakt already has all the libraries covered. Falcon desperately needs more professional sound designers building ALOT more individual presets for all different oscillators, filters, effects, arp, step sequencers. With how much you can do with this, I dont understand why they dont have many many effect rack presets. I can design whatever from scratch but i dont have hours and hours like i used too. Falcon sounds amazing just time consumingfmr wrote:No content?Wavegem wrote:... What?? Did you actually use Falcon? Clearly you have no idea how one can use and alter/edit workstation libraries...They use Falcon 100% (+samples ofcourse, just like Omni)Wavegem wrote:NOT UVI workstation libraries... they dont make any use of Falcon at all. While Kontakt offers a wide range (enormous!) of third part libraries (+ NI itself),Waregem wrote:...Kontakt already has all the libraries covered...
it doesn't allow for the same level of audio manipulation you've get with Falcon.
That is while not even taking into account all the rest Falcon is offering like already said everywhere within this thread.
