So, Gadget iOS, $39.bungle wrote:$199 release $299 normal
Gadget Mac, $299.
That's significantly more expensive than Logic Pro ($199).
I can see how this can be a fun app, but not at the cost of a full DAW.
Shame...

That's true about the comparison with logic pro (I have it). However what can you compare to logic pro for
the price? Btw, gadget with all the IPAs purchased costs more than $39.

Release date is Feb 28th. $299 (regular) is steep these days, even with all 30 "gadgets". Keeping the launch offer price ($199) as the standard one would, IMO, make a lot more sense..
Apparently, as well as the 30 modules, it also includes the im1 / iWavestation, and Odyssei sound expansions too, minus the "Ivory Mobile Grand".
Plus it seems Milpitas won't be ready by the launch date.

I'm sure it'll be half-price at some stage like all of Korg's software offerings. At $150 it might be an easier buy for some. That's about what the iOS version would cost with all current IAPs at full price.

$200 is what I expected so yeah I'll be in line for it. I'm in the market for a dead-simple sampler anyway so I can make use of it.
G-Force's take on the Odyssey is almost $150 so if you think Korg's is on par then it's not too far out of line.

Gadget with all the IAP will cost you the same (or even more) for iOS.
The mac version comes with 31 gadget´s while the iOS version comes with 18 i think....rest is per IAP from 10 to 30 bucks each or so.
But i agree that 299 is a bit to far, 199 is O.K. for me.

What's interesting is that they seem to have decided to forego the Apple App store for their own Korg Shop.
When I saw the price, I was thinking it'd be a good time to stock up on discounted Apple/ITunes gift cards but that's not going to be possible.
$199, definitely seems fair for the amount of content, plus the ability to work via mobile device with the option to pickup later on the desktop, but I don't need this.... Sooooo, I'll probably wait a bit. I'm not so certain they'll do 50% off sales from their own shop, but I would expect sales to dip back to $199 from time-to-time.

Hey I'm not advocating for one way or another. i just think it's interesting considering that gadget must have been very successful on iOS.Cinebient wrote:Why should they give Apple 30%elxsound wrote:What's interesting is that they seem to have decided to forego the Apple App store for their own Korg Shop.

I'm actually happy it won't be available exclusively on the App Store as it means there's a chance for it to be cross platform (win/Mac) and a chance for a proper demo.

considering that gadgets are supposed to work as plugins (iirc) outside gadget host it seems a fair deal. 199/299usd is not a pocket money though...
