Great, so it will load all HS5 content? I don't need to keep both running side by side?

You CAN'T load them side by side. It is a replacement. There are ways around that "replacement" process, but they are unpleasant.

That's fine, I prefer that - providing - it will still load all that H5 can including Simon's Halion libraries and my own patches.

So I've just downloaded the Halion 6 28GB files and I'm installing them.. can I delete Halion 5 folder now or do I need it?

edit:what a pointless process. Out of the 28GB download it only actually needed to install an extra 570MB over Halion 5.

Not sure what you mean there, it is supposed to have new Pianos, brass libraries etc. Surely they are based on sample content, not just new GUIs?

You sure that those 570 MB aren't just the plugin itself? Like aMUSEd, i would have thought Halion 6 features quite a lot of additional sample content.

So what is it that you can do with HALion (+Cubase) that you can't do with Kontakt, sound/feature wise?

You are right, it is stated that Hot Brass and Studio Strings are multi-sampled, so how they managed to squeeze that into 570MB seems weird.

Maybe stuff needs to be downloaded after installing H6 ?

Does Kontakt have a VA engine, and granular synthesis?
