So I've been playing with ReSample from 2nd Sense Audio, same guys that
wrote the wiggle wavetable synth. Because it came out like 2 hours ago.

So far its pretty nice, 64/32 bit, with a great UI and some really nice features.
Currently its mostly limited to processing audio as edit functions are rudimentary.

Anyway, I've been in contact with the Devs and they said that they intend to
add much editing functionality with coming updates. E.g. reverse audio, paste
mix, batch processing etc. In regard to slicing, they say its not planned because
that's more of a multi-track feature? :? They want to keep ReSample focused
on precise single track editing.

Its shows lots of promise imo... Check it out and advise them whats needed,
that way we could possibly have a nice (relatively affordable) alternative
audio editor to the usual suspects.

Looks very promising, thanks!

Certainly if someone has a new MacBook Pro, the touch bar support seems handy.

Er, does it "edit" audio????? Doesn't look like it. FX I have, being able to fade/cut/pencil/etc with audio is more of that I think of as "audio editing"

Agreed, feels a little like this isn't quite sure exactly what it wants to be (yet). However if the devs are still working hard on it then I guess we should wait and see.

If anybody's tested it, how good is the denoising? Sounded pretty decent from the video, not that I've had a chance to listen to it on proper monitors yet.

and where is the trial version?

At their site on the product page. And yeah, its not much of an editor
currently. They said they will add features with "weekly" updates, and
I should keep an eye on their site to see when they have added features
to meet my needs.

Wish there was a plugin version to replace Edison on Mac

Pitch shifting doesn't have formant correction, apparently - but it seems good. Besides that and time compression/expansion, all the rest is "meh". And, for an audio "editor", the absence of loop tools is a bigger drawback, IMO.

Anyway, going to download the demo.

How is this compaird to Wavelab LE 9

Trying the demo now on mac. vst plugin scanning seems to take forever.
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

I haven't been playing with it much. Anyone interested might wait a bit until some real editing features appear before blowing their demo period. Unless it's already enough for u.

Let's see, I installed the demo, opened it, tried to drag a .wav file from the browser to the edit window (you know, the screen that says "drag files here") -- and nothing happened. In fact I can't load any .wav files at all.

So that's a problem.
