A faster way to enter chords would be good, at the moment you need to click, click keyboard button, type chord using upper and lower case click Ok and looking through through the chord picker takes a long time.
This is ok if you have a few bars and not a whole song.
In biab it's easy no upper lower case, and you can type chord K4 to copy last 4 bars, K8 last 8....
Type Chords directly in Master track with autocomplete option, see Google Auto Complete.
Maybe have different chord entry options, like the L/R cursor keys move to next beat you just type chord hit cursor x4 (or Tab) for next bar, x2 for half bar, x1 next beat, Tab <> bar forward bar back, R4 repeat last 4 bars, R2, R8, R16....

Options are the best Option, this allows the user to customize it to suite them so it's not locked and can only be done one way that some like and some don't.

It would be wonderful to have a circle of fifths as flexible as the one featured by the Toontrack pianos, really!

Perhaps the best implementation I have seen until today in a composition tool (even if the rest of their composition features are rather poor in the Toontrack pianos, but they are focused of course only on the writing of the piano part). Their circle of fifths is especially useful when you can see it following the entry point as long as you progress on the writing of the line. It becomes even very quickly totally indispensable and you can't imagine to write a piano part without it when you have taken that habit which is so natural...

When I write a composition on a paper sheet (yes it still happens, especially when I write in the garden under the lime), I have always my plastique circle of fifths on the table, extensively used.

And a feature of that kind, inspired by the one of Toontrack, would be a major argument for the reputation of RC, Attila!

i see a feature in RC that look good, but seem not work ok. on master track it is possible to enable the keyboard icon on left side. now all chords that are set are disable. now when i play my song and press some chords on my midi keyboard can see that chord track content change....

So is this meant for live accompaniment, with left hand chord input ?

I forgot to reply to this one. Yes, when this feature is active, you can play the master track chords live, during playback. When you hold notes on your MIDI keyboard, the master track chords are ignored, and your notes will be used as the master track chord.

The problem of too high notes are fixed now, I need a day or two to upload an update.

Hi Krovatin,

I haven't received any bug reports for the VST plug-in recently, and Reaper 5.33 worked well with RC VST today.
I suspect you still use the old (pre v3.1) dll for the RC VST plug-in. The user data folder was changed to Documents/RapidComposerV3 in v3.1 and this may stop the old plug-in working. Please check and copy the latest RapidComposer_x64.dll to your VstPlugins folder. This is just an idea, I hope it will work.

Hi, Attila. I am expiriencing a lot of Reaper crashes at the moment, always related with Rapid Composer. It crashes everytime now if RC is in plugin slot.
Reaper is 5.33/x64, RC is 3.2b5 x64 ASIO Focusrite 6i6
PC Windows 7
It was like this with previous versions as well.
So, what can I do to stop it crashing? If I remove RC from Reaper plugin slot, everything is OK.

Today I discovered that I just strongly discouraged ...
I recorded a few phrases in real-time and all of them had value Controller Pitch Bend. I must say that I wrote the phrase by turns on the same track.
Then I wanted to save these phrases, but it turned out that the controllers values belong to the track, but not these phrases and controller values are not saved with the phrase. In fact, work with the record lost the meaning of phrases. I did not know about it before (
And yet ... After rendering the phrase, variations continue their action ...
For example transposition was -12, and if you do not disable a variation, the transposition became -24 (of result that I wanted). In other words, I propose to make a button in the track browser and the browser phrase "Turn on / off all variations." I just can not, every time off and on variations ...And one after the other! (12-14 pieces)))

RapidComposer Beta v3.2b6 available!

Lots of effort went into this update. The biggest change is editing percussion using drum maps. You will get all necessary information about it when you click on 'Percussion' for the first time. Please let me know if you need a drum map file for your VSTi, I'll include more drum maps in the future. This update includes many bug fixes.

I continue a theme, save the phrase and import MIDI files ...
What happens is that I drag from track MIDI file (which should get a pitchband) in the DAW, and yes ... all like and was in RC !
Then I drag the same midi file back to the RC (or even not from DAW, but from a different location) ... Where are my controllers? Where pitchband?
And yes, Attila ...
  Immediate crash:
      Midi Import / multiple tracks / join to one track / import
