Hehe, it's tempting but we won't do it like that. There'd be thousands of people who'd say "Had I known, I would've bought 5 instead of 1". So in any case we must ensure that Repro-1 is not a "lost cause". If you look at how we handled things like that so far, I think it's going to be a pleasing solution for owners of Repro-1, and bad luck for those who come late.

Is the P5 going to be a Diva module or its own plugin?
We'll decide when it's ready. Most likely scenario is a Repro-5, somehow entangled with Repro-1. For Diva I'm hoping to take the filter further and embed it in the circuitry of the Synthex filter.

Holy bring the system to a halt batman!

Is there some way of this not being 50% cpu per instance? :o

Post

Sure, do what all u-he customers do.... buy a new 5k computer every 6 months and then say "i can run 15 instances easily, you need to update your pc/mac"

:o

I have Zebra. It's nothing on the cpu for my systems and sounds great. Even Lush 101 is fine. I've been jonesing over a new synth but I can't deal with that kinda use.

It takes more cpu to have freely wire-able audio rate modulation that sounds great. Bazille can do all sorts of stuff that Zebra never could. Actually, Bazille can do all sorts of stuff that very few synths can. Part of the price of that capability is cpu use.

Whether you want to pay that price is up to you. The multi-core option makes it comfortable to use for me and I do not have a super powered cpu.

Zebra is pretty light on CPU, AFAIC (surely one of the lightest of u-he's synths). LuSH-101 is a brutal monster (on CPU) for what it does.

Turn on multicore, turn off HQ.

edit: Still amazingly high

50% for what? one note with no unison? 5 notes with 3 voice unison?

That sense of 'bad luck' will probably only last about 20 seconds,
and less than that for people who don't suck at browsing presets

I bought Bazille when it first came out but only recently really started using it. Sound design was just too time consuming, but suddenly (maybe after letting the concepts percolate in my mind for a while) I've been getting fantastic results very quickly. Basses are huge and also getting some awesome brassy sounds.

My tip for new users is that very small adjustments can make a very large difference in the sound. (Same thing in Diva I've noticed).

It's easy to get lost in thinking out modulation paths, but the flexibility is nothing short of fantastic.

My only critique is that it would be great if the envelopes were a little more flexible with the built in ability to make custom curves (rather than modulating itself), or if there were a couple of multi-segment modules like in Zebra.

Otherwise, I have to say I'm loving it. I also own Diva and ZebraHZ. I demo'd Repro 1 and it sounds fantastic but it's hard to justify the $$ on a mono synth.
