I can't believe I've never posted on KVR before - but here goes...
The Samplecast has been up and running for almost a year now. It's a weekly podcast and YouTube show focussing on plugin and sample library news, reviews, discounts, freebies, tips and interviews with composers.
It's a completely independent show, with no backers or advertising. We try to keep things as unbiased as possible and we give coverage to all library developers whether they're big or small. We also pride ourselves on being an irreverent life raft in a sea of oh-so-serious sample library coverage.
The new series has just started, with a holiday roundup, and you can see the YouTube show below. There's lots more information on the site at http://www.thesamplecast.com

Another week, another jam-packed Samplecast show. This week we're honoured to feature an interview and cue from composer Graham Plowman. You can hear a full 10 minute chat covering his musical career, influences and creation process on the Samplecast podcast. In the main Samplecast show we've reviewed Zero-G "Shadowlands" and there's also the usual mix of news, bargains and a special Kontakt tip to help you make the most of your samples.

I've been working overtime to bring you this week's edition of the show which is as jam-packed as ever. Our composer demo is from Ed Watkins - you can hear him break down his awesome mock-up of a theme from Jurassic Park. There's a full 10 minute chat covering his background, libraries and mixing techniques on the Samplecast podcast. In the main Samplecast show there are two competitions, a review of Heavyocity's one-knob "Punish" plugin and the usual mix of news, bargains and updates.

First I've heard of it (I think). Will take a peek later. Thanks ...
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I'm curious what your favourite Ney sample instrument or library is, since you mention you've heard better?reutunes wrote:Time for episode #32 - this week is the longest EVER Samplecast show with over 16 products showcased. My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

I like the Sonokinetic one personally, although there is also one in a big pack I have but i can't remember what it's called. It's got a very ethnic name but I don't recall.Ben H wrote:I'm curious what your favourite Ney sample instrument or library is, since you mention you've heard better?reutunes wrote:Time for episode #32 - this week is the longest EVER Samplecast show with over 16 products showcased. Yeah, from what I have heard it sounds pretty good. Unfortunately they stopped selling it for some reason before I was able to purchase it. I wonder why?reutunes wrote:I like the Sonokinetic one personally, although there is also one in a big pack I have but i can't remember what it's called. Do you mean the Fayez Saidawi Egyptian Ney from Findasound? I've been eyeing this library off for a while, but haven't decided to pull the trigger.
EDIT: Wait, maybe you mean Breath of Anatolia?

What is the purpose of this podcast? Actually i can't hear any product in action (just one), no prices announced on new products just a few basic infos everybody can easily find everyhere on the net. The cat was funny btw.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
