So, If I want analoguish synth from tone2, Do you recommend Icarus?
I was considering Electra and Nemesis.
I would say Saurus is the closest to what you wish for. But, as mentioned, IMO, other synths do that better really. Saurus, and the other Tone2 synths are good VA synths in their own right, but, for a good analog emulation, i'd check out the latest iterations of other manufacturers. If you're into Tone2's synths, and don't mind "analog", i'd check out Icarus, which IMO is not only one of their best sounding synths, but, at least, has a straight forward approach, unlike some of their other synths, and is also very versatile, because it does all kinds of stuff, VA, wavetable, even has some (all?) of Nemesis' FM modes, and so on.

Hm.. I already have diva and monark, and had arturia, xils lab, and checked so many other analoguish synths.
and I just found I like Saurus's sound. But It also has weak point for me as i mentioned (mostly, Feature-wise), and It is not a perfect synth. It can not cover all sort of sounds, but It definitely Fill up the deficit of my arsenal.
Do you have any recommendation?
(My next target is.. maybe TAL synths. not sure yet.)

Saurus 2 is not thought to be a replacement for e.g The Legend or Repro-1. Apples and oranges really.

Icarus is also no full replacement for Nemesis while the FM morph modes indeed are based on the "NeoFM" technology of Nemesis so this is "real" FM and no phase modulation.
Anyway Icarus used a "virtual" modulator" osc with e.g Sine, Saw or Suare" but could not do Fm with one of the main oscillators. InMemesis you could use any waveform for both the carrier and oscillator and it also offers other options not available in Icarus the same way.

Besides that Icarus inded packs some options of Saurus and Nemesis (and also Electra 2.1) into a single plugin but is no full replacement for all those. If i would have to choose a single plugin from Tone2 currently it might be Icarus indeed. i am happy i do not have to decide to use only a single plugin from them.

I bought Synth legend and Analog sound sets.

I love them! they makes me more retro!!

I made this just for fun.
I used 2 Saurus instances with XLN midi file and Addictive Drums with some samples.
No external effects except a little touch of Total Bus compressor.

Mmh, I would love tone2 stuff, but... All presets sound in all of their synths like "Uplifting Trance", and really, that limiter should not be there in a synth. Instead there should be a compressor, or better nothing. Somehow even the unison in their synths sounds like trance. I also miss some real analog greatness and also nice dynamics and transients in all of their synths. No, I don't mean an extra added attack transient. If a preset uses a limiter and sounds total straight, IMO there is something wrong.

I really like the dsp side from tine2 synths, seems to be rock solid programmed and totally cpu friendly. I guess they even code in assembler for time critical parts...

Saurus2 doen't come with a limiter or compressor. There is only a reverb and a chorus effect and some kind of bass boost.
The other tone2 synths have a compressor as (optional) insert effect.
Icarus is the only one with a master limiter

+ 'tube'. For some saturation/distortion

Looks like saurus 2.5 is out.

This guy refuses to use the actual name of the DAW, FL Studio. I wrote to him about it, Scott (IL) did as well and still........

That's what it used to be called before shortening it to just FL, so maybe he is just used to referring to it that way.

That was so many years ago. in 2004 they rebranded Fruity Loops to FL Studio. I just don't get it.
I would think the a prof. company would use the name of the software the right way...

A guy at the local music store still says "Fruity Loops" to convey his disdain for what he deems a "DAW for kids and amateurs" (he's SO professional).

Might be just an oversight. I wouldn't read TOO much into it. :ud:
