DAW that quickly lets you preview sounds before adding to project?

Drums are a big part of my song making process, so I'd like a program where I could quickly preview .wav drum sounds that could be played from the PC keyboard using the arrows.
A DAW that can quickly get in & out of different folders/sub-folders, etc.
The less clicking of the mouse the better, just moving in and out of folders with the keyboard/arrows would be best.
I know FL Studio has a pretty good browser, but what about any other DAW?
For some reason, my old Windows computer is not letting me open .exe files right now, so I cannot try any demos out. I'm buying a new PC in a couple of months, so I need some info on some DAWs.
Appreciate the help!

Maybe it is easier to ask which DAW doesn't have a browser for wave files?
Anyway, all the DAWs I have, they have a browser that let me view the audio files (wav format). Those are: Cubase, Studio One, Live, Reaper and FL Studio. I usually use the arrow keys.
Some of them can even review the midi files (like Cubase, Studio One and Reaper), not Live unfortunately and not sure about FL Studio. But, they are different in the details (some have more advanced search than others, previewing according to the host tempo, ..etc).
If you can't demo them, then IMO, it is a good idea to read their manuals (I mean the sections related to the browser, not all the manual

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

The BitWig browser is far superior to FL.
Not only does it audition sounds but, if you choose, it will match the tempo of your song and play it in proper time. It's fantastic.
Search is way better and faster as it's pre-indexed & uses tags.
It's also structured better as root folders show all samples in sub-folders.

You can even preview complete .alc Live Clips that can include midi note data and an associated vst instrument and fx chain. That's pretty cool I think, and a nice way to save riffs too.

Maybe not what exactly you where asking for but.. Maschine is very fast in browsing samples in categories. When the files are imported to the library that is.

First thing I thought of. You can actually use a preset or a plug w/o committing, also.iHartBeats wrote:EchoEko wrote: I know FL Studio has a pretty good browser, but what about any other DAW?

The 2 main steps:
"To enable previewing, activate the Preview switch next to the Preview Tab at the bottom of the browser."
"Click on a file (or use the up and down arrow keys) to select it."
