Instrument samplers (extern and plugin)?

I search for an instrument sampler to sample external synth or plugin synth.
I've tested Samplit... a bit unstable (crashed) and the result sounds wrong.
Extreme Sample Converter: no 64Bit support so only 32Bit plugins are supported
Sample Robot 5: expensive and there is no demo version available?
Are there other tools for PC for sampling external instruments and plugins?

Yeah, there's Translator by Chicken Systems, there's an auto-sampler in it but it doesn't work really well, it tends to crash... Most automated sampling solution aren't that good, even Sample Robot is problematic, I wouldn't recommend it either.4damind wrote:I search for an instrument sampler to sample external synth or plugin synth.

Personally, I use a mix of ESC, Reaper and Wavosaur batch conversion tools.
There's also DirectWave, I don't know if it's available for Mac though. For sampling VSTs it's the best I've find, but it tend to crash...

It seems that ESC is the most stable and working solution. I bridged a 64Bit plugin with jBridge to 32Bit to test it and it's working without any problems.
Samplit VST host implementation is buggy. With Spire preset switching was not working. I wrote to the developer about this behavior but without an answer yet. After changing the buffer size manually the results are ok, no idea why this has some impact of the sampling. My first try with the default settings sounds completely broken.
Sample Robot seems to be the better known app. But no demo version for a 250 Eur app? So have completely no idea about this tool.
DirectWave from ImageLine? Yes, this looks interesting but it's only for sampling of plugins and not usable for external synth?

In my opinion, ESC is the best, it's just a shame that it hasn't been updated in years. The most stable indeed.4damind wrote:It seems that ESC is the most stable and working solution. I bridged a 64Bit plugin with jBridge to 32Bit to test it and it's working without any problems.
Yes, it only samples plugins, but it does a really good job and it's really fast. The real problem for me is that it doesn't load FX chain like ESC does.4damind wrote:DirectWave from ImageLine? Yes, this looks interesting but it's only for sampling of plugins and not usable for external synth?

I was just going to suggest using ESC and bit-bridging it with jBridge.
That seems to work pretty solidly for me.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
