So I just got a Focusrite 2nd Gen 2i2 to replace the 1st Gen version I bought
a couple months ago. Mostly because that's what they had at the only local
music store where I live, and overall I've been pretty satisfied with them.
Not to mention, the 2i2 is inexpensive and they gave me lots of free stuff with it.
Anyway, I'm happy to recommend it for MuLab. The 2nd gen version seems
largely improved over the first. Driver issues seem to be cleared up and the
sound seems noticeably improved.
I cant say I'll likely buy another Focusrite due to lusting after some of the
more swanky interfaces out there, RME...
But if you're on a budget, the 2i2 will serve you well.
