You can't currently (never could with 1) but it is on the
List apparently, if you need it better waiting to see if it is implimented.
Thank you. Where can we see the list?

Nice to see them release this, but don't see much reason to get if you already have Ableton. With a Push 2, Ableton is amazing and offers most of the functionality (practical functional you'd actually use - not the science fair stuff) here. Layered editing is pretty cool and I've always liked having the launch view right next to the arrange view, but Ableton is more refined in many areas as well.

And then not in others. For example, touch-screen is not available in live yet, no? That's huge for a lappy.

My launchpad pro and bitwig seem to be made for each other.

When is push 3 coming out? :hihi:

There's some great Push 2 scripts for Bitwig 2, it's as functional with Bitwig as with Ableton now.I Love Ableton Live and have been using it for 15 years but i'm seriously impressed with Bitwig 2.

Touchscreen support is still a gimmick until touchscreen computers have higher adoption. Not a single Apple computer has touchscreen for example (and Apple has very high marketshare among creatives, including musicians).

Launchpad Pro doesn't even have knobs or a touchscreen...Push 2 is one of the most refined pieces of music hardware created. I tried one of the Push 2 scripts for Bitwig and half the time got a "This function is not supported" error. Maybe stuff has improved with BW 2.0, but don't see how it could be as comprehensive as Ableton support.

I also dropped live suite for Bitwig, I had been a live user for 10 years and still have both on my desktop, but I always find myself booting up Bitwig. I agree Ableton have gone all in on Push, I had one for about 6 months but ended up selling it, not for me.

To be fair, I was so used to Live when I first tried Bitwig that I really didn't think I liked It, but the software has really grown in to its own thing, it isn't just a Live replacement (although for me it does do everything I personally did with Live as a second DAW).

If you already own Live and it does everything you need, you are set!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Does anyone know if the bitwig v1 --> v2 upgrade can be sold/transferred? In other words, can I hope for a second hand upgrade to be available in the Marketplace anytime soon?

I suspect the problem is it would quickly depreciate in value depending on how many weeks and months had passed since the upgrade.

Trying bitwig 2 .
On startup the audio engine refuses to be activated , givng me a windows error when pressed .
Pressing engine button a second time , works

what error do you get? Did you assign your audio hardware and stuff?
JamWide - a cross-platform Ninjam client for DAWs

Agree, it's finally competitive DAW, but really think they are charging too much for it, old price now feels adequate, v1 was ongoing beta IMO and now when they finally got their act together, they ruined it with pricing model, shame, I really don't think it's worth that much money for what it is, this now feels like something worth of releasing as v1 for 299. :tu:
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

I just start bit wig , by launching the engine is turned off ( which seems odd to me ) , when I press the engage engine button for the first time , I get an windows error ..'bitwig audio engine doesn't work anymore ..blah..send report ? NOppes
Luckily , it doesn' t shut down or anything .
I gues it has something to do with releasing asio drivers
When engaging for the second time , it works , confirmed by the Rotating spiral

System , win 8 , focusrite scarlett using assio 4 all drivers .

NO biggie

Touchscreen support is something of a gimmick period. Touch works well for consumer gadgets but the mouse is significantly faster for serious work.

I'm glad Apple does not have a touch based Mac. I don't want all my application GUI's being optimized for touch cause that will make using the mouse slower. (touch is more click heavy) It will also waste space on the need for bigger buttons and especially on the laptop space is precious.

Totally agree with you. That's why I don't understand people complaing about GUIs not optimized for touch, and want the mobile apps GUIs ported to desktop and laptop computers. I always found those GUIs horrible, and a complete waste of space.
