That's nice to read, thank you. It's not only about samples, also about wavetables and re-synthesized sounds (which are also wave-tabled in Avenger), Avenger is not really made for deep multi-sampled instruments in it's current state (no round robin, velocity layers are a pain to setup, no looping function -> samples have to be looped before importing them, no crossfade or alternate looping), nevertheless I took the time to do some multi-velocity patches in my first sound library for it. Layering several multi-sample oscillators with wavetable and/or FFT sounds can produce superb drones, pads, textures and soundscapes though, I do dig Avenger's modulation system and also as a sequencer and bass machine it works just great.

I was trying to resample the first note from alphavilles "Big In Japan", but it sounds nothing like it..
I was wondering if i am doing something wrong or the resample engine just is different from what I expected. I really did the the Tone2 Icarus resynthesis but I love the avenger preset search engine, and I was going for that avenger should be my main synth, for calling up huge preset collection that i would convert from other synths and samplers. I know its now a fully featured sampler, but some of the features are just to good to miss

Anyways...can somebody help me out?

Im pretty sure the source is "f" tune so i sat the tune in avenger to that.

I loaded your preset and I don´t think that you imported as "2048" because in the Editor window it says "F1". I imported the Icarus WT as "2048" and reduced the number of cycles. Adding a second voice an octave below helps the sound to be similar to your original sample. I uploaded the preset: https://www.sendspace.com/file/di7qaa

the 2048 import i did with the icarus wavetable was not uploaded.... the uploaded avenger file is the original big in japan wav and set the tune to "f"

i did the same thing as you and got the same result (import icarus wavetable and set to 2048), which is pretty off compared to the original sound

when you load the sample into icarus its sound very similar to the original and I want the same thing for avenger...im just not sure how to achive this

Did you download my preset? I think that it is not that far away from the Icarus or the original sound. And it sounds different to your Avenger preset. Maybe you could compare both Avenger presets, just tryin´ to help here ...

It's definitely not the same sound, but it sounds very similar, I just had to make some adjustments to the Beachboy patch.
