Just to clarify : I stated my interpretation of the rules, nothing more.
In my nabla track there's a very short "Aah" choir sound. This was made using extreme eq settings, not modulated though.
For me this was really pushing the envelope.
Let's not get the rules get in the way of our creativity, that's the most important thing.
Everyone here is doing something really special.

Those are good. EQ and filter automation is fine, a lot of us use it.zarf wrote:@bjporter - thanks for responding...
Conclusion for now - I will simply not use filter/eq automation, and find another wayIt's not like I don't have a million other techniques to learn and explore!
Thanks

So if a made a track using that bass example that I posted - is it fine, or is it not?

I understand that it's not how you were thinking about it, and you have been very clear that you were just offering your opinion, which is much appreciated.
In my simple mind I was thinking if I post an actual sound example, it would be clear. hahahahah shows what I know
We'll see. I need a beer

Patches revert to some init sounds every time I load this project. Any trick to getting FortuneC to keep the settings that it had when project was saved?? Windows 10, Reaper 32bit. It's very annoying. Almost unusable.

Fortune Cookie won't load in Bitwig studio. I found a workaround, which is to load the plugin within Vstforx (https://www.vstforx.de/ (https://www.vstforx.de/) - you can use the demo), then run vstforx within Bitwig. Of course, not ideal!-

Try sending a Program Change on each track.bh9090 wrote:Patches revert to some init sounds every time I load this project. Any trick to getting FortuneC to keep the settings that it had when project was saved?? Windows 10, Reaper 32bit. It's very annoying. Almost unusable.
That worked for me.
Linux Mint 18, Ardour, F-cookie bridged with Airwave or Carla

I'm using F-Cookie in linux but when exiting Ardour the plug-in crashes.
I got a idea that maybe disabling the plugin before exiting might prevent the crash and indeed that worked.
Now with just a few plugins that won't be problem but as we all know, it won't stay a few plugins ...
So I got on irc (on a sunday ..) and asked if there's a way to disable all plugins with to project open. There wasn't.
I asked: Can lua (ardours scripting language) access this.
Within 10 minutes one of the developers handed me a script and helped me integrate it in Ardour.
It disables all plugins on selected tracks.
I copied it and edited to enable all plugins on selected tracks. So one script to disable (before exit) and one to enable (after loading) the plugins.
Made a little screencast.
Oh, the pop up when hovering over the buttons is cut off because I'm using a dual screen setup and the screen recorder is configured to only record one screen.

Wow I just realized Taron made Lord of the Springs. What a legend. I hope we do an OSC with it.
That is one prime meme, Rob. Did you make that? I'm going to tweet it.
If you want to instantly solve any problems with FortuneCookie2012, just use Reaper
.
Edit: You are using Reaper
Maybe it's Windows 10. I'm still on Vista and 7 with no problems here.

i'm not entering this month but I played around with the synth and created some dubstep patches
https://soundcloud.com/deep-theory/fort ... tep-sounds
here is the reaper project file if you would like to use the sounds:
http://www.filedropper.com/dubstepsoundsfc2012_2
in the project file sometimes the sync mode changes to a random one for some reason (in the project file, track 4's fortune cookie should be on Mode 5 and track 5's fortune cookie should be on Mode 9)
roughly made..so the sounds still need perfecting (osc volume levels/filter etc.)
