Man, am I glad I took that guitar in there with me. It's WAY more yellowish under the brighter lights of the store.
The mint-green doesn't look to hot, too contrasting. The parchment* is too creamy yellow, the black was just kinda lame and their tortoise shell was kinda dull (maybe it had one of those plastic things on it, but I didn't really want that again anyways.
I went with the pearloid and the proline has the back plate as well.
Some GC dudes are just stupid. I noticed that the ones I was looking for were "in stock" and there was no way they just sold them all. The dude was PERSISTENT that they didn't have them. But I eagle-eyed a stack way over in the corner where nobody would see. Tons to choose from
Also as a bonus, they ALL have the foil shielding like mine so that mystery is solved. The parchment one is they only one that didn't, which I didn't know because they were all shoved in the corner where only a customer is smart enough to look
You'd also think that searching every single f...ing day to look at them that SOMEONE would post a photo of one or mention it on their site
Shouldn't be so difficult
*To the untrained eye I thought this was mint green. And it looks NOTHING like the photo they have of it with with what looks to be a pattern.
EDIT: Not today. Worst f**king day ever, gotta wait till the dust settles.

Anyone wanna buy a rats nest with one humbucker, a kinda cheapish pickguard and an SI/blower switching system on the cheap?
Easy part is over. Now I'll have to concentrate on getting it right
Gonna snag some strippers (no, just the lowe's type
) before I finish up tomorrow.
Oh, and the pearloid looks SWWEEEEEEEETAAAAAA! Very classy. I'll only have shitty cell pics when it's done though

When I was at the Moog factory, I was in the back and I saw some of their guitars stacked on a rack in the back. I asked the dude who was giving us the Modular construction tour if they were for sale (he had his back to what I was looking at). He said they never get those anymore and have no plans to do it again. I said, but you have some right there. He said no, we don't have any. I said what are those ... he finally looked and "hmmm, I don't know where those came from".incubus wrote: But I eagle-eyed a stack way over in the corner where nobody would see. I never could get them to tell me about them, or if they were for sale. They wouldn't even take the easy way out and claim they were in for repair. However, they obviously weren't. I still don't know what's up. But, it was odd that they were so evasive about it.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A relatively pain-free experience.
@Emerson: Rock on baby, terrific quality, and easy to install.
Quality: Well, it's early, but BOY, what a difference. No placebo here, straight-ahead BOOM! I think the thing I'm surprised about the most is the low end. It's WAY tighter than my setting (same presets) had before.

The first thing you have to ask yourself is how much do you want to spend. A starter guitar can go for around $ 50 and the prices after the point increase with things such as quality, material, brand and accessories. So firstly choose your budget, and then choose the best guitar in that budget.

The most bizarre thing is that for whatever reason (maybe the string pull?) it just plays better and actually sounds better acoustically.
It doesn't even make any sense, but there is no doubt

I'm going to see if lightening strikes twice and order the P-bass one.
The problem is that I have no clue what pups to get. I think it's going to be these:
http://shop.fender.com/en-US/accessorie ... 14000.html
But that's kinda pricey and it's really hard to tell in examples if it's what I think they are.
