Yes, and i got *that* point. All i am saying, is that i'd rather see a longer envelope release so that the "efective" hearable 'part' takes longer to die. Without using up mod env's or use FX to bring some of the sound back.bmanic wrote:No, he said that -60dB is NOT at all an adequate cutoff point for an oscillator/envelope and he then proceeded to explain WHY that is.. for instance if using a compressor, which will naturally drag up the audible range/noise floor, thus making the "cutoff point" become easily audible.

dont bend the Envelopes downwards! Leave them linear (graphic) they have the perfect analog shape then. They are not really linear, they fall linear on a peak meter, but dB is not a linear scale. Just mixdown a long released saw with Avenger being in the "linear" shape and take a look in a wave editor, you will see what I mean.
what I tried to say is, that it is absolutely inacceptable to cut the voice off at 60dB already. Thats by far not low enough. Furthermore: if a envelopy shows a decay time of 3seconds and you bend it downwards, it gets shorter of course, but its STILL at 3 seconds, even if you cant hear it anymore after 2 seconds. But its still 3 seconds, you could bend up the envelope anytime to reveal the full 3 seconds. We cant lie about the length just because you bend it down. Its length is 3 seconds, period.

I tried to bend an envelope before putting it in the mailbox, then proceeded to cutoff, but all it did was tear it all apart... Very interesting conversation going on right here....

Will VPS Avenger be offered as rent-to-own like Xfer Serum on Splice?

- fixed a rare crash while loading a project that contains VPS Avenger
- fixed some sound and modulation issues in the Step-Sequncer
- minor changes and improvements
the update mainly fixes the crash, which was important.
We are working hard now for the drag and drop sample import / loop editor
While you're on it, don't forget sfz import !
Thx Manuel.
+1 for sfz import, would make it very easy to import multisamples like synthmaster, falcon or camel audio alchemy.
It would be very nice to adress an external folder like for example the Zampler library folder of the german Beat Magazine. Then we could layer some osc easily and by saving the preset, it will copy the mutlisamples into the avenger preset library.

That's a good idea that could be applied for the expansions: I would buy many expansions if the cost could be split during a couple of months, not necessarily based on rent-to-own... For a hobbyist, it could means the difference between buying or not.Jermusic wrote:Will VPS Avenger be offered as rent-to-own like Xfer Serum on Splice?

@msvs - is there a chance that Avenger will go on sale again before Christmas (like last year)? $220 USD is substantially higher than Xfer Serum (which, let's face it - is likely your only competition)..msvs wrote:no this is not planned atm

C'mon,,i know how to use an envelope man.msvs wrote:dont bend the Envelopes downwards! Leave them linear (graphic) they have the perfect analog shape then. And i like to use long, bend down envelopes, with a hard high peak and LONG release, with a nice steady gradual (non-linear) fade out.
Again, for now i use the mod env's for that kind of stuff, but i'd rather see a longer max length. That's all...

msvs, please please please do some algorithmic optimizations in your synth... I really would love to use it as a workstation, so using it in many instances, but current usage is really not acceptable. Thank you.

I think the sounddesigner also done some expansions for nexus like freaky maschines.
It would be very cool to easy import these multisamples and form a preset with all these nice possiblities from avenger. It made the design of camel audio alchemy presets very easy.

I put in a new CPU yesterday and now Avenger is making me reactivate it.
How do I do this?
For the record, I hate companies that make me go through this crap.

I was also wondering if this is a graphics card issue. My system is Windows 7 x64 and AMD Radeon HD 5450 graphics card. Cubase 7.5 loads and works fine until I close the GUI and remove selected track. Then it freezes and I have to close Cubase with task manager. I´m having similar issues with my other hosts, Ableton LIve 9.7 and Plogue Bidule. This problem has been ever since I bought Avenger. All my other plugins works fine except Fxpansion Geist2 which has a graphics issue. I´ve reported the developer but unfortunately he can´t reproduce the problem.
mike_the_ranger wrote:After the hype I'd have liked to test it but unfortunately it doesn't load (Cubase, Win10). The cpu shoots up but the editor does not open. Cubase freezes then and I have to kill it with the task manager. On the machine of my friend it loads but is slow as hell (cpu about 90% and not more than 3 to 5 fps even in standby). Somewhere in this thread I found Avenger is only optimized for Cubase. Could it be it is also optimized just for intel cpu & nvidia graphics? My system has a AMD FX-8370E cpu and Radeon RX 480 graphics card. My friends graphics card is nvidia but amd cpu too.
Never had such problems with other plugins
