Additional information. The eLicenser says my license expired on 1/29/2017.
If you think this stuff makes customers fans of your company, you're mistaken. It should not be this difficult to validate a legitimate license. The few products that I have that did make me go through the re-validation process were quick and relatively easy. This one seems to have a serious flaw in it.
Why?
Going back to my original email after purchase, I went through the same process again. I took my activation code and went to register.vps-avenger.com and tried to register it. But it gave me an error, probably because it's already been registered. Okay, so I downloaded the keyfile again and tried to import it. I did and it said product activated and instructed me to reload. When I reloaded it, it said it's not activated.
So as you can see, there is something very messed up with your activation process if somebody makes even the smallest change to their computer. I didn't have this problem with any other product. Just yours.
Now please FIX THIS!!!

So today I discovered that I can no longer use version 1.0.29 simply because I changed the CPU in my PC. In fact, I was point blank told that I would not be helped until I updated to 1.0.34.
Now I am stuck with this CPU hog (since version 1.0.30) and no way to go back to the version I was comfortable with using.
This is no way to run a business. Customers should be allowed to use older versions if that's what they choose to do.

Generally speaking, you should always de-activate a software license for you computer first if you're going to replace a major hardware component. Most activation methods look at this as a completely different machine. I know hindsight is 20/20, but... :swagtunes wrote:I put in a new CPU yesterday and now Avenger is making me reactivate it.
Have you gotten in touch with their support directly? Not sure if this thread is a reliable method to get tech support from them.

If you guys are on an older version and change your PC for anything, beware. Your older version will NOT be able to re-authorize.

Is Avenger even on eLicenser? I'm at work and can't currently check if Avenger made some kind of soft eLicenser key on my eLCC, but I was under the impression it was just a basic keyfile. No...?
I know for a fact I didn't import any keyfile into my eLCC. Just loaded it from the validation screen on the plug. Have I missed part of this convo, and you're talking about other VPS plugs?

Avenger swtiched from eLicenser to key file. However, key file no longer works with old version of Avenger. You are forced to upgrade to the new version.Razzia wrote:Wait... your... eLicenser?wagtunes wrote:Additional information. The eLicenser says my license expired on 1/29/2017.

Regardless. If you're using 1.0.29, which is what I was using, and worked perfectly fine with the key file, it no longer works.woodsdenis wrote:The release version was never ever on elicenser !!!!!!! always a key file.wagtunes wrote:Avenger swtiched from eLicenser to key file. Just some simple sfz files?msvs wrote:if someone could send us SFZ examples, we can check it out.sacer wrote:godly wrote:That's great news !!!msvs wrote:1.0.34
- fixed a rare crash while loading a project that contains VPS Avenger
- fixed some sound and modulation issues in the Step-Sequncer
- minor changes and improvements
the update mainly fixes the crash, which was important.
We are working hard now for the drag and drop sample import / loop editor
While you're on it, don't forget sfz import !
Thx Manuel.
+1 for sfz import, would make it very easy to import multisamples like synthmaster, falcon or camel audio alchemy.
It would be very nice to adress an external folder like for example the Zampler library folder of the german Beat Magazine. Then we could layer some osc easily and by saving the preset, it will copy the mutlisamples into the avenger preset library.
Easy to find or download right?

Also drag and drop would be very nice. For example you can drag and drop the sfz files from camel audio alchemy into Falcon or Tal sampler. That is a very easy method to handle and integrate multisamples very fast.

I can drag audio/midi into the host but can't seem to drag the other way? (trying just moves the audio track to another track or position - this in Bitwig)woodsdenis wrote:Dream come true, New Sonic Arts products do this now and it really speeds things up.vanhaze wrote:If Avenger Dev could make drag-drop possible directly from DAW arrange page onto Avenger, on OSX, then he's my Hero Of 2017.

Wishes and dreams aside, I think the main macOS problems are solved. I've got no more clicks, pops and sudden crashes since the last update. GUI is eating slightly less CPU (the coolers are not spinning so hard) and opening the GUI in busy projects do not result in trasnport stop (only now and then - quite decent I'd say). Overall .34 is a great update for macOS at least. At this point I can say I'm happy with my purchase
