Had a chance to check out this extreme metal drum kit for Kontakt. The library is surprisingly flexible, with some great, brutal drums sounds and hundreds of grooves accessible right in Kontakt.
This library is currently 70% Off here: http://bit.ly/StigmatizedDrummer

Wow, no brainer for me... can't have too many drums... esp at .918 exchange rate. :) And thanks much for the detailed review... :tu:
You need to limit that rez, bro.

€18.44 with VAT. Still, great value.

At about 12 minutes into the Video you call the product Stigmata Drummer. :scared:

I have Kontakt 5 Full. I use a 32-bit version of Ableton Live with 4GB RAM on Windows 7. The Library seems quite Large. Do you think I will be able to run it without any problems? I know it says 2 GB of RAM minimum, at least 4 GB recommended but I'm interested in your opinion.

Thanks ...

Great to see the review.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Looks like WAV files... you could try saving out as NCW, though I don't know exactly how much that would save. You on Win7 64 or 32? I could compress it right now to see what the net result is (64-bit here).
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Win7 64bit.

First, kit sounds really good... more than worth the $15... flexible, not just for metal etc... really good clean rock kit, lots of detail in the hats and cymbals, lots of flexibility in terms of kit tuning, mixing, etc. Cymbal chokes and a china, which is always nice. :)

NCW doesn't affect runtime footprint... so the footprint is really just in the buffering... Note that the there are two sample sets: processed vs. unprocessed. Here are some numbers:

Kontakt:
123MB empty
274MB unprocessed kit
452MB processed kit

Reaper 32-bit:
175MB empty kontakt track
318MB unprocessed kit
505MB processed kit

Again NCW or WAV, same basic footprint. Processed kit sounds really good, but via mixer you can send individual kit pieces to st.1, st.2, etc.... provides 14 mixer slots... so you could save some RAM and do your own processing either internally in the mixer or externally via individual outs.
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Absolutely no problem man...Although it's almost 4,5gb in size in kontakt requires 260mb if you load STIGMATIZED XTREME patch and about 100mb if you load STIGMATIZED RAW patch. :tu:

Sorry, I should have clarified... My numbers are as reported in task manager, so total resident size.

Awesome kbaccki. Thank you very much. I think I'll pull the trigger.

:tu:

Thanks for confirming the details Dimitris Dalamitras (@StigmatizedDrum). Welcome to KVR. :)

Update: I don't seem to be having any problems running this at all. It took about five seconds to ''install'' the MIDI Files in the correct location. Looking forward to having a decent play with this tonight. It seems to be a great bargain from what I can tell.

IMO it's on the HOF list, right below "xpand2 for $1"... :)

kbaccki you are absolutely right about the numbers that you report(i reported the loads of STIGMATIZED DRUMMER) but your load numbers are the whole load of the system(load of Kontakt +load of windows or mac osx)...so you nailed it correctly...but anyway in our days all machines are capable for much heavier loads.

Aloysius nice to meet you on the forum.

Thanks guys for the support and i wish the best experience.
Feel free to ask for anything...i will be here to help.

Well it's great. The MIDI Grooves are great too. Nice drumming. As kbaccki says; it's one for the HOF (Hall Of Fame) list! :tu:

Update: I read half of the manual today and downloaded all the videos. I also discovered that if swing is applied to the 'MIDI grooves' within Kontakt, the swing will actually be reflected in the 'dragged and dropped' MIDI File dropped into my host DAW. F'n awesome. :band2:

Maybe you guys can help me out. I read the manual and it didn't say anything about how to install the drums. I just unzipped and copied them to my Kontakt user instruments directory keeping the unzipped folder structure. But I don't see any of the grooves show up or presets. Triggering the sounds through my keyboard or by pressing kit pieces on the screen works fine. I'm opening the program through Kontakt's file browser since I can't add it through the "Add Library" button. Any ideas? Thanks.

There's a video about where to place the MIDI Files. It's called: HOW TO UPDATE MIDI GROOVES. Learn how to update MIDI GROOVES of STIGMATIZED DRUMMER.
