I'm sick of all audio software, I really am. How come everything has so many issues?
I'm loosing a tremendous amount of time communicating with companies about bugs or strange things in their software and them not solving them. :dog:
I was far better 5 years ago with Windows 7 and Cubase 6 and just a few plugins, all "more advanced" software and hardware I have tried has but disappointed me.
And the most recent the update the worst!!
For instance,
- Cubase 8 Elements crashes everytime I close it (yes it crashes when closing) and looses config stuff. Cubasee 6 doesn't.
- I changed my laptop to a newer version and couldn't install Win 7 on it, putting Win 10 to my like has taken me ages and it's not as helpful in workflow
- Falcon now has decided to open the screen keyboard everytime I double click on a knob to change its value, which is so annoying
- Maschine's knobs now go crazy with mouse (not with trackpad)
- I went for Bitwig 2, and even tho I like it, some features work at times (for instance, if I rouute midi from one track to another sometimes it does send data and sometimes not, without any reeason at all). Buggy and not for production.
And the list could go on and on... :x :x :x

Why are software/DAWS/OS developers doing such a terrible job??

Nope, I'm a glass half-empty guy when it comes to this. I could pay cash for a nice car with all the crap I've bought that simply didn't work as stated on the tin.

Endless waits for fixes and not being able to do the one thing that I wanted, be a "one man band" :x

I've got a ton of nice stuff, but I've got a ton of turds too. You can't sell 'em, they either can't or won't ever be fixed (software/drivers) or they are no long being developed.

I complain a lot about win10 and the gestapo oriented updates, but FFS, at least it works.

No, everything does suck, pretty much. There's no hope, we die, life is short, it's mostly pretty awful. And people come at you with a fallacy of relative privation when you point it out.

Doesn't mean it has to stop you though. Some asshole once told me, when I was depressed about music-making and arbitrary social obligations, that "You'll never have optimal conditions to create your art."

He was an asshole, an arrogant prick, but his statement is correct.

If things work ok, IT business would lose a lot of jobs, don't you think?

doesn't make sense - how did people make music before software? Do you have any links?

They were 10/15 years ago, and I haven't changed (neither more intelligent nor more stupid) So I'm pretty sure it's computers that have changed for bad (in general terms of course, they''ve gone better in some particular things)

For those that say I'm pessimistic, I don't remember having so many issues 10 years ago, and my work was more or less the same. In fact, the things I complain about are not hidden or special features, I'm talking about workflow and very simple use, I'm sure it's going for worse.
Let me say it in other words, if I could I would go back to Win 7 and Cubase 6 and the 32 bit pluins I used ,but my new hardware won't let me...
