It's been up to 0.2.8 for a while, though I haven't actually tried it;

And didn't want to lose squellers post from earlier this morning which is on the previous page;
squeller wrote:Hey,

just found this neat little tool. I was overwhelmed by that Oatmeal instrument, which has a very useful randomize button (which creates useful results). The randomizer in FL often produces crap, as we all know, there can be multiple problems, like dry/wet, muting etc,,,

It's a great playground, but I think it could be so much better, getting (good) results is still hard work. Because what I do:

- Load Plugin
- Find all Volume knobs and change to gaussian distrib. or fixed value
- Find balance knobs and change to gaussian around the centre
- Find and change whatever deal breaker setting (dry/wet, pitch set to the sky... etc etc.. you know, there can be many!)

This has to be done every time and already is a lot of work due to the looooong lists of settings which many vsts have! It would be so much better, if my above settings would be saved in the vpg files. Another idea would be, that your program would auto detect and populate values by user definition, at plugin load. Like:

- "If midi setting name contains 'vol' set rand to linear, min = 0.7, max = 1"
- "If midi setting name contains 'balance' set rand to fix, val = 0.5"

But still, nice to have it.

Another idea: batch output of FXP. E.g. Serum can not have a bank with multiple presets. Would be nice if program could export multiple fxp at once.

I think the 32 bit version should have the <x86> program files path as default path for opening VSTs.

Thank you
Mike

Yesterday I've released the version 0.2.5 with 64bit plug-in support, so you may look at it:

Hi squellers and bob!

thanks for the feedbacks. Most of your requirements are already in the TODO list :)

I'm currently refactoring the code of VPG in order to improve the user experience. When it will be ready it should be able to save preset values and random methods from one session to another, it could load many presets at the same time and it could merge presets.
I also plan to get the actual parameter value display, i.e. "-0.3db" instead of a numeric value.

Meanwhile you can use the blue/red/green buttons in the toolbar to change randomization type for all parameters. This could save you from extra works.

I will, of course, keep the KVR community informed of the new features availability!

Best Regards

Thank you, very generous!

on the note of "preset generator", I thought about another concept where a sample is imported and the output waveform of the selected synth is supposed to match the imported sounds waveform as best as possible by tweeking all of the relative parameters on the synth - I'm not talking about additive resynthesis though, just any synth of your choice.. would something like this be possible to create?

awesome, thanks !

Hi! I made use of the VST Preset Generator and it really worked fine but, just at the beginning of the use ... Then it started to give problem, I do not know why ... The VST Preset Generator tool is very interesting and I want to be tester . You only have to guide me how I should act. I want to tell you that I also do not speak English well, because I'm Brazilian, but I use Google Translate. Forgive me for some translation flaw, but it's Google Translator's fault. Ha ha :phones:

Hi,

Announcement of the new VST Preset Generator 0.3.0!

I've added some very popular requests:
- preset file can be imported and their values randomized to create new preset
- many presets and plugins loaded at the same time
- round knob to change parameter values with real display
- parameter names for non-chunk plugins

It took more than 6 months to develop these features so I'm very proud to deliver them to the VPG users!

Feedbacks welcome!

Hi.
I tried VPG whith an old vst synth called "Occam" (v.1 by EVM), but since the two DCOs that control the tuning are in the parameters affected by randomness, all the created presets are out of tune ! I haven't been able to make the random action leave these DCOs from the equation.... Grrrrr...
Have a nice day.
