I think that the performance problem depends of the user. A lot of people don't have any problem, either on Mac or PC. Others have shown more problems with Serum than Avenger, some Mac users complains while others said that they don't have any problem anymore. Myself, I never had any problem on Win10.Hanz Meyzer wrote:There is quite a huge performance problem with this synth - end of discussion! Maybe it's only like this on Mac, I don't know.
Please report your bugs directly to keilworthaudio, he is very kind.
Also different cpu meters actually show different info. What you need is a meter that shows cpu_spikes_. E.g. Renoise cpu Meter. The window process viewer won't work.

But yeah, anyone with performance issues should definitely report them to Vengeance/keilworthaudio.

OzoneJunkie wrote:BUG 1:
I have an issue with the latest Avenger version in which I open a previously created project in Live and Avenger produces no sound (well, it makes a very faint thump) until I display the GUI for the first time, and then all works fine. It doesn't do this for all presets though.
BA Dubstep Monster 4 (from the Factory Presets) exhibits this issue.
EDIT:
BUG 2:
Additionally, it looks like when selecting a preset and then clicking on the Waveform dropdown, the current waveform folder location is no longer highlighted (bullet point placed next to the folder name). If a new (or the same waveform) is selected, then the bullet point does appear.
I have experienced this, but much like yours, it got sorted out after I fiddled with a couple things. Can't remember what fixed it though.
In my case, however, I believe the onset of the problem occurred when duplicating a track with Avenger. This sort of thing seems to create a lot of (minor) problems with Avenger. In my case it usually has to do with mod sources and/or the mod matrix. Sometimes the little triangles to adjust modulation amounts don't do anything when dragged. Sometimes I don't get any menu when I right click them. Sometimes I can't assign some parameters in the mod matrix. Problem is, none of these things happen consistently so I can't quite report it as a bug. Suffice to say though that Avenger definitely has some quirks with duplicating tracks or copy&pasting instances within Live.

Interesting. In my case, I did try creating a brand new song in Live, adding Avenger, selecting the above preset, closing the Avenger GUI, saving, then re-opening the Live project. No sound from Avenger in this case, until the GUI is opened. It may have to do with presets using Wavetables vs static waveforms. Not sure.Razzia wrote:OzoneJunkie wrote:BUG 1:

Is there any way to change sound library location without reinstalling it? I have PC with Windows 10 and hackintosh on the same machine and I'd like to use shared sound library. If I delete sound library Avenger just want me to reinstall it. There is no way I can point where to look for installed files.

you can set the library path anytime at the SYS Page / ContentAndreas71 wrote:Is there any way to change sound library location without reinstalling it? I moved the content folder back but this message keeps popping up everytime.

dont move it maybe?
first duplicate it, then set new path, then delete the old?

Okay!? Sounds like a lot of fun when there is a massive content directory one day...
Btw if the content is on an external HDD (to move it between workstations) it also doesn't work sometimes
I can't imagine copying things all the time should be THE solution.

Sorry, but... no spikes, no issues at all here... (win7, i7, 32 gb ram, RME PCIe card)
Am I lucky, or are there too many systems/configurations/drivers for all of us?
This synth works like a breeze here, and sounds magnificent, and it's an endless joy to program it too.

Seems like currently it gets along best with Win 7 and Win 10. I've got a dedicated production machine on Win 10 with similar specs to yours. Avenger runs smooth with only minor occasional glitches (as I pointed out before - usually related to duplicating or copy and pasting an instance in Live). I do feel it's lost a smidge of stability for me in some recent updates, but it's still 98% reliable.matteogk wrote:Sorry, but... no spikes, no issues at all here... I'm very glad I tested Avenger first. Some questions: 1) Does anyone else have a massive higher cpu & gpu consumption when opening 2 or more editor windows? Turning knobs in one instance sometimes leads also to radical framedrops in the other editor windows. 2) There seem to be some inaccuracies. When playing the init preset of 2 or more instances simultaneously phasing occurs even if the phase is set to a specific value and not to random. I expect it to sound the same every time. 3) Not a question directly to the plugin but regarding the expansions. Why does for example the FUNKY HOUSE expansion costs as much as the PSY one but only has half of the content?
Small bug: init preset has the volume fader of OSC 2-4 at 0% and in general there is no value in the readout when moving them (same for the drum volume fader and amplifiers). Why does the drums volume fader measure in dB but the OSC in percent?
Another bug: clicking outside the editor window does not close an opened context menu.

Quick question (couldn't find the answer on the site), if I purchase Avenger, do I need to uninstal the Demo version first or is it just an authorisation?
cheers
