I'm using tracktion6 that came with my xynex 802.
When I just talk through the mic not recording it sounds fine.. after I record and it sounds like its half in slow motion or like I'm drunk and talking slow or something it's weird.. any suggestions?

Post

You're doing something wrong, don't do that.

Any suggestions other than mr smart guy... I don't change anything from when I talk through it, just hit record and it does it.

Post

Nope, just Mr Smart guy, that's all I have for you. That's already a gift, it bumped your post.

Sounds like conflicting sampling rates: if the audio interface delivers 48kHz and the project is set to 44kHz then it slows down.
So look at all the sampling rate configs at all parts of your chain.

guessing this isn't romell,

are you monitoring (eg. on phones) when recording? latency affecting your coherence?

if you throw some headphones on a newbie and route their mic through a delay so that they're monitoring themselves with latency, there's a tendency for disorientation as the attention vacillates between speaking and listening, which can produce "slur" kinda stylee effects they might not be conscious of. not trying to question your skills, seen it happen on a class full of people.

at any rate, experimenting with options like, turning off through-monitoring while recording, might give you some vantage to see where your system is failing.
