One annoying thing I found: feedback isn't cleared after you stop/restart playback in your host. Could you please fix this? For VST, it's simply a matter of clearing buffers in resume() callback.
What samplerate/buffersize are you using? If CPU usage is too high, and you are not using oversampling, try to disable the HQ mode (which is affecting the Reverb mostly).

Regarding the feedback (delay tail actually), I'm not sure this would be a good idea. I know for sure that many users prefer to play with the auto-oscillation even when playback starts/stops. It's how the hardware behave :)
Testing a bunch of other delays, it seems like only Logic's Tape Delay and Echoboy cut the tails. If this is something really important I'll add it to the next update. For now, if you have updated to v1.0.1, you can click on the Bypass button (top-right) to clear the tape loop.

are you considering vst3 and linux support in the future?

i don't know of a single delay or reverb that does this... i personally would hate to use a delay or reverb that did this. sounds like it would be very annoying to use. maybe just freeze your track?

The majority of delays and reverbs clear their cache after playback is stopped and restarted. I won't consider a reverb or delay unless this behavior is in place.

VST3 yes, it's actually something I wanted to do for a while, but linux support definitely not. Unfortunately I don't have the resources/time to check yet another OS/host configuration.

I don't know if it's the majority, but of course this behaviour can be useful. I will add it in the next update as an option. Meanwhile just using the Bypass button will clear the cache.

Thanks, maybe I should be more specific: I'd like the delay buffer to be cleared only at start of playback, not when stopping. Of course it's important and fun to be able to play with an infinite feedback loop with playback stopped, I want that, too. Example for delays/reverbs that expose the behavior I request are Valhalla plugs, ReaDelay. The current behavior makes it impossible to e.g. properly play back a project from the beginning if it contains an infinite feedback loop somewhere in the middle, because once the feedback is triggered, it will bleed into the beginning of your track. Also, it will likely bleed into a wav rendering of a track (couldn't verify because there seems to be a Demo limitation with rendering).

As far as CPU usage is concerned: @ 96kHz, buffersize 256, HQ, no oversample I get a bit above 4% (REAPER CPU meter), a bit above 3% with HQ disabled. The workhorse delay plugin I'm using (modulated stereo delay, with simple HP/LP filters in the feedback) uses ~0.2% on the same machine. The current CPU load of Outer Space is certainly no show stopper for me, but I keep wondering whether there is room for improvement.
EDIT: never mind, the numbers above are for echo+reverb modes. The echo-only modes yield ~1.2% which is rather decent!

There's always room for improvement :) I'll see what I can do for the next update but I think it's normal that it's a bit heavier compared to a "standard" delay. Many factors to consider, lots of tiny details.
Just a tip, if you don't need the reverb, it's always better to use the first echo-only modes, bypassing the Reverb section.

Hi karrikuh, how's Charlatan and the FX doing? Any updates? When? Thanks.

How long does it take for pluginboutique to put up updates, anyone know?

Ah, thanks for the heads-up, I didn't explicitely test the echo-only modes. With these, CPU usage is absolutely fine (~1.2%)!

Thank you, but when I click on play it gets stuck on "loading". I've tried different browsers. Any ideas?

You should have received an email from them by now I think. If not, you should probably contact them.

No idea, maybe some kind of add blocker? Working fine here on safari. Clyp is quite convinient imo, quick upload, not much hassle. But if it causes trouble, it's no good lol..

However, this should work: bit eq and bit compression involved.
