Just found this wonderfull library for vocals...AUDIO BOOKS!!!!

Not totally legal (but prob easier to clear) but if you use film samples and are sick of the same ones, try downloading some audio books.

Im amazed no one thought of this before :D

Some great Poe stuff, SC-FI books, even meditation ones have some cool lines that are usable.

go on, have a gander....

I don't get it... why not just record yourself speaking whatever you want, rather than searching through movies or audio books? :?

maybe they want a diff sound than themselves :o

The timbre and quality of some voices is more appropriate than others! Especially your own, for many people. ;)

Imagine Paul Reubens as Darth Vader... ya know...?

:D

I've been wanting to get into burning my own audio books (legally, of course), but I haven't researched any pay-per-book sites. I'll have to check those out. As long as they're cheaper than a commercially packaged audio book, it's bound to be a bargain!

I couldn't find any free ones...and i cannot afford any fees :(

Perhaps i'm blind though

Sometimes pre-recorded stuff has a quality to it that I can't get myself because I am not a trained speaker. Some of the old radio recordings also are quite unique in the sound they offer. I've tried reading from books and have used my own voice for effect, I like to have a range of sound I can use.

I could be totally naive here but I don't think anyone reading this thread is using copywritten samples in the context that has been described above without permission, for profit. Nor would I ever encourage that. :?

no i use the free stuff mate :P
which if you search is available, also if you own any books to audio at the back of the cd cover you will find usually adesses to write to regarding copyright.

and usually if you ask nicely and its not like your useing the whole book or even making a penny, they say yes 8)
not always tho so ask first
